Manager of Financial Analysis (Corporate) – 2008 to 2013

Finance team member responsible for the integration of new acquisitions. This includes the validation or development of operational and accounting reporting systems including daily cost, throughput and inventory reports, weekly financial forecasts and quarterly business reviews. Tremendous emphasis is placed on cost reduction, improvement of underperforming assets and synergies with other divisions. Some years our acquisitions were in excess of $3 billion. To date, our acquisitions have been immediately accretive to earnings.

Manager for PCC’s Financial Development Program (FDP) seeking high potential individuals building our bench strength for the future. We targeted specific universities and specific graduates in finance or accounting to enter into our 2 year program (4 six month rotations, requiring two relocations). The program’s success was demonstrated every six months with our graduating FDP’s each receiving multiple offers within PCC.

Operations Controller -- July 1991 to 2007

Operational manager for one of Precision’s largest manufacturing facilities ($250 million) reporting directly to the Division Controller with dotted line responsibilities to the Vice President and General Manager. Responsibilities include the coordination and development of short and long range business plans, adherence to G.A.A.P., corporate accounting policy's and government regulations, cost accounting activities including LIFO inventory valuation, product costing and profitability and the coordination of new business systems.

Improved pre-tax earnings from 5% to 22%

Improved inventory turns from 4.6 to over 10

Improved annual cash flow to over $40 million

Implemented complete new business systems including shop floor control, inventory control, MRP, cost accounting, order entry and a bar code labor collection system.

Implemented customer focused manufacturing work cells and complete business units involving a plant re-layout, a realignment of the engineering and overhead support functions and the development of new internal reporting systems.

Designed and implemented daily reporting systems that provide manufacturing cost and throughput visibility and variances to plan.
