Quality Assurance Manager, Tramont Corporation 2007 to Jan 2013

Responsible for Quality System development, documentation, implementation

with ISO 9001-2008 registration achieved, also responsible for normal daily

quality management activities and customer contact. Tramont Warranty

Administrator with daily contact with customers. Tramont is a manufacturer

of double wall diesel fuel tanks for OEM customers such as Caterpillar and

Cummins. Tramont also designs and builds large generator enclosure and tank

systems for customers such as Cummins, Kohler, and distributer markets.

Customer Quality Assurance Manager, Cummins Emission Solutions 2007 -

2007

Responsible for Customer Quality Management and Supplier Quality

Management. Duties included management of Corrective Action activities

including root cause analysis using classic 7-Step and 8-D methodology,

coordination of all QA activities associated with customers, PPAP,

preparation, audit facilitation, and daily communication. Customers

included organizations such as Cummins Engine, Volvo, Freightliner, Mack,

Ford and other engine manufacturers worldwide.

Quality Assurance Manager, Production Stamping Corporation 2005 to 2007

Production Stamping Corporation was a metal fabrication, welding, and

assembly company located in Milwaukee. Started as an independent contract

consultant assisting with implementation of their QMS with the goal of

ISO/TS16949 registration. Ultimately I joined the organization and we did

achieve ISO/TS16949 third party registration. PSC was a tier two supplier

to the automotive industry, appliance industry, lawn & garden industry and

others. Customer included Lear Corporation, Eberspacher North America, JAC

Products, Tower Automotive and Tecumseh Corporation to name a few.

We successfully completed third party registration ISO/TS16949 and ISO 9001-

2000 registration August 2006. During this period we also achieved

significant improvement of various quality metrics:

. Internal Parts Per Million failure rates from 15,000+ in 2005 to 1260

in 2006

. External PPM failure rate of 9,000+ in 2005 to 562 in 2006

. Scrap reduction from average $25,000 / month in 2005 to $5,700 average

/ month in 2006

. Rework reduction from average $2,500 / month in 2005 to $380 average

/ month in 2006

Production Stamping Corporation no longer exists having declared chapter-

128 receivership March 2007.

During the summer of 2005 while contracting with PSC, I also performed

twenty days of ISO9001:2000 registration audits with Perry Johnson

Registrars. Ultimately deciding that was not the career direction to take

at that time and joined the PSC team. Currently RAB registered ISO9001:2000

(QMS) provisional auditor with sufficient audit days to achieve full

auditor status.

Corporate Director Engineering & Quality, Metalcraft of Mayville, Inc.

1997 to 2005

Metalcraft of Mayville is an OEM manufacturer of metal fabrications

involving stamping, laser cutting, press-brake forming, welding, painting,

(powder & liquid), precision machining and assembly with annual sales of

$75million. They have three facilities, two in Wisconsin and one in North

Carolina employing approximately 1000 people. Primary customers are

Caterpillar Inc., AM General, Case New Holland, NACCO, Cummins and others.

I was responsible for directing all engineering and quality activities for

all three facilities. Direct reports were 15 Engineers and 20 Quality

Assurance professionals. Metalcraft is an ISO/QS-9000 registered

corporation with all three facilities individually certified.

. Initial goal was to achieve Caterpillar Quality Certification -

accomplished

. The quality system was QS-9000 registered in 2003.

. Involved developing, documenting, implementing, and training the

quality system from scratch; including development of training

programs for all employees.

. Responsible for Engineering & Quality budget planning and measurement

for all three facilities. The budget totaled over $3.5 million.

. Responsible for development and implementation of annual cost

reductions totaling $478,500.00 for one key account for each of three

consecutive years.

Significant customer contact, making frequent presentations to key

customers pertaining to key performance measures appropriate to that

customer including average dollars output per employee, cost reduction

activities, average output per square foot and various quality performance

metrics.

Quality Assurance Manager, Wisconsin Fineblanking & Machining 1989 to 1997

Wisconsin Fineblanking & Machining manufactures various fine line stampings

and precision machined components as a tier one supplier to the automotive

industry including Ford, General Motors, and Chrysler. While at WFB we

achieved several quality awards including:
