Program Manager

Responsible for 2 areas: Application support for serialization and implementing new

projects

Application support

Assisting the users (engineers and production operators in automotive environment) in

operating existing serialization program. Troubleshooting problems (usually data problems,

1D and 2D bar code scanner problems, printer problems)

Testing and moving to production new applications. Includes:

Working with IT personnel to get PC imaged,

Loading new application into PC,

Working with electricians to get PLC connection

Working with offshore team to enter test data and correct any problems in

application

Troubleshooting barcode printers and software

Troubleshooting 1D(Motorola) and 2D(Cognex) barcode scanners.

Interacting with routers and TCP/IP connections

Assist with PLC simulation code

Program Management

Identified new IT business (new applications and application revisions). Used ITPM

process to carry new application from concept, through testing to implementation in

production. Created detailed project requirements documentation. Worked with offshore

team to interpret document so that team could write code. Conducted UATs (application

testing) for new programs and revisions to programs

Manufacturing Engineer

Responsible for 2 areas: Application support for order entry and Manufacturing support.

Application support

Created and continue to support 2 applications used in order entry.

A fabric program that does the most efficient allocation of fabric. This program has the

following: 1) an ODBC link to databases in an IBM AS400 application, 2) SQL queries of

these databases to supply information (cut length, width, quantity, etc) to an allocation

algorithm, 3) an algorithm written in VBA that minimizes the fabric used while maximizing

the savings (approximately $300,000 annually), 4) an automatic output both to an Excel

spreadsheet and back into a database in AS400.

Manufacturing worksheets that are filled in automatically when a sales order is selected. It

includes the following: 1) an ODBC link to databases in an IBM AS400 application, 2) SQL

queries of these databases to supply information (part type, components, quantities, etc) to

the worksheet.

Manufacturing support

Responsible for project management of large capital expenditures (Have most recently

overseen the installation of powder paint line), specifying and purchasing tooling and

fixtures for new product lines, coordinating with all levels

PLC Experience

My PLC background is with Omron brand PLCs. I have used their ladder logic program, CX

programmer extensively. CX programmer is analogous to Allen Bradley’s RSLogix. I have

used CX Programmer to write, modify and troubleshoot with ladder logic on a couple of the

machines we have in our factory including a fabric cutting machine and a fabric heat sealing

machine.

I have also programmed using the Omron HMI software known as CX Designer. It is

analogous to Allen Bradley’s Panel Builder. I have added push buttons. screens, displays as

needed.

The SCADA software I have used is Indusoft which I used to connect our fabric cutting

machine to our AS400 network so we can deliver manufacturing orders directly to the

cutting machine’s PLC.

I have used both serial and Ethernet connections to connect these networks.

In addition I have extensive experience with C++,Visual Basic, MS Access and SQL.
