Ohio State Fair, Florida Spring Break and 2002 Winter Olympics in

REFUND ANTICIPATION LOANS - RETAIL CONSUMER LENDING SYSTEMS

FRONT-END PROCESS REWRITE

This system accepted loan applications for IRS tax

refunds from various participating

tax filing companies. The old system, a slow,

inefficient, batch system that ran

hourly has been rewritten into a background CICS

environment to simulate real-time

responses back to the tax filing companies and allow

data to be shared on-line

during the work day.

Duties: Produced a functional high-level design of the

new background CICS process

and transmission of responses to the tax filing

companies. Held periodic

presentations for our users to keep them informed of our

design ideas and status.

Wrote detailed design packages to be programmed and

assisted in the programming phase.

Assisted in integration testing and implementation. Via

workbench and access,

created a quality assurance control process, including

REXX procedures for

migrating programs, that is now a part of standard

procedures for the department.

10 YEAR HISTORY DATA CAPTURE

This DB2 system retains customer demographic, relevant

loan, fee and tax related

information for reference, statistics and application

scoring.

Duties: Discuss with and analyze user requirements to

best design data

dictionary, screens and transmission of

responses to the tax

filing companies. Wrote detailed design

packages to be programmed

and assisted in programming phase.

DIRECT DEPOSIT INDICATOR - ELIMINATION

The IRS used to send an indicator depicting the status

of the applicant;

whether credible or not. This helped remove the burden

of having to score

applicants via credit bureaus. The IRS decided to

remove this indicator

from their response records, 2 months prior to tax

season, forcing us to

install a credit bureau interface and enhance our

internal scoring process.

Duties: Created many eztrieve reports on

behavioral scoring for the

bank's statisticians to analyze. Cost

justifications for the

various solutions to a credit bureau

interface - and proposed an

effective, efficient resolution which has

been implemented.
