I am a self-taught, goal-oriented individual with the ability to get things done. I thrive on accomplishing

assignments with precision and believe in the importance of building/sustaining positive relationships.

Creative thinking and common sense have enabled me to resolve challenges and improve existing

conditions. I look for the good in all situations and welcome the opportunity for continued growth and

development.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Saunders General & Concrete Construction, Inc. Kaysville, UT

President/Owner

17 years of construction/project management experience. During that time, my company

completed approximately 500 footing/foundation projects per year. Through hard work, a

desire for excellence, and personal integrity, I built the company into one of the largest, well-

respected footing and foundation businesses in Northern Utah.

I work well under pressure. I enjoyed the challenge of handling the day-to-day management of

various projects, which included: Ordering materials/equipment, scheduling and working with

inspectors, coordinating with the builder, estimating, and doing blueprint take-offs.

I understand the importance of building/sustaining positive relationships and working well with

people. Contractors specifically engaged our services because we were known for doing

exceptional work, being reliable, honest, easy to work with, and staying on schedule.

I earned a reputation of excellence in the building community. We were selected by Bomen &

Kemp Steel Supply to represent their products in a video presentation for the World Concrete

Show. During a period of concrete powder shortage, Parsons limited their supply to a small

handful of companies. We were included in that select group and were able to continue our

daily pours without interruption while others waited weeks for concrete.

I work comfortably with business owners, top-tier general contractors, engineers, architects,

and inspectors.

As president/owner, I took responsibility for interviewing, training, and handling disciplinary

matters with employees.

Handled contract negotiations, estimating/bids, project budgets, payroll, and all financial

aspects of the business.

Made a concerted effort to encourage the growth of all employees by providing financial

incentives and rewards for efficient/accurate work.

HOBBIES AND INTERESTS

I enjoy landscaping, working in my yard, golf, racquetball, and participating in other athletic

events.

Bird watching has been of particular interest to me. A few years ago, the hobby of falconry led

to racing pigeons. In 2003, my first racing year, my desire for excellence (along with a

competitive edge) enabled me to capture several national awards. In 2004, I received the First

National Ace Pigeon award for having trained the fastest racer out of 200,000 birds nationwide.
