Resume:

ANNA EWA CARTIER

New York, NY *****

*********@*****.***

Biotechnology professional who provides technical support with a strong emphasis on team collaboration within science lab operations. Experienced developer and facilitator of training programs for peers and interns. Experienced in providing internal motivation to trainees for commitment to carry out objectives. Work within deadlines to deliver flexible solutions. Fluent in MacVector and Sequencher. Looking for employment in New York City.

Skills:

Molecular Biology:

454 sequencing, In-Fusion, Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) troubleshooting, BAC DNA purification and analysis using restriction enzyme digest, HAMILTON robot operation and protocol development, PFGE of BAC DNA, BAC Homologous Recombination, Southern blot, AmpureBead DNA cleanup, MacVector software, Sequencher software, all basic molecular techniques.

Protein Biochemistry:

MembraneMax: cell-free membrane protein expression, protein expression in: E. coli, CHO cells, and cell free, protein column purification, protein quantitation, Western blot, immunoprecipitation.

Cell Biology:

ES cell culture, adult stem cell culture, adult stem cell isolation from human blood, mammalian cell culture, transfection, organelle purification using percoll gradient, sucrose gradient purifications, Scanning and Transmission Electron Microscopy training.

Selected Accomplishments:

• Analyzed a newly constructed vector that did not match predicted fragments. Detailed analysis of fragment sizes showed that virtual file is incomplete and the vector is correct. Corrected virtual file with additional (previously missing) data reflected the same fragment sizes as the experimental data.

• Determined PCR conditions for primer set with large difference in annealing temperature submitted by a company’s client. The data on PCR conditions was missing.

• Used genomic mouse DNA to successfully amplify two fragments with more than two-fold difference in size (larger fragment over 1 Kb) by setting up experiments with series of annealing temperatures and extension times.

• Designed sequencing primers and primers for cloning strategies including PCR, In-Fusion, and restriction digest (last position).

• Cleared a backlog of samples by clearing the plates with largest number of samples first and setting up multiple experiments for smaller sets in-between other duties.

• Generated clear and concise protocols for future use by company and presentations of data and protocol validations.

• Presented data on Hamilton Robot program validation with a series of graphs showing processed samples quantity and quality.

Experience:
