OSCR is a matrix organization where responsibilities are managed by teams. I am currently assigned to the Services Team (formerly known as the Multimedia Services and Technologies Team), the Technology Team, and the Workshops and Training Team.

For the Services Team, I help train, mentor, and supervise student staff working in multimedia lab locations. I provide on-location support for the, a multi-platform computer lab with software and hardware optimized for multimedia projects, with installed software packages including: Adobe Creative Suite, Logic Studio, Audacity, Finale, Final Cut Studio, Roxio Toast, and many other multimedia applications. Oversee 'Gear-to-Go', a technical equipment library. Provide customer support, education, and outreach for UAWiFi, the campus secure, high speed wireless network covering more than seven million square feet of indoor and outdoor space. Prepare and post video and audio content to campus Darwin Streaming Server. Provide live streaming support for campus special events.

On the Technology Team, I maintain campus servers for multimedia streaming, podcasting, transcoding, and file sharing. Most significantly I have installed, maintain, and troubleshoot a campus-wide 'Podcast Producer' cluster computing environment for automatic processing, packaging, distribution, and audience notification of audio and video content.

With the Workshops and Training Team, I deliver workshops on various multimedia topics and applications including:

I also am a member of a 'Fish!' training group who deliver inspirational customer service training focusing on the four principles 'choose your attitude,' 'make their day,' 'be there,' and 'play.'

Authored and maintained equipment inventory database. Recommended purchases. Maintained Instructional Technology Facility computer lab. Taught faculty, staff and students to use multimedia devices such as DV cameras, DVD-R recorders, quickcams, digital audio recorders, projectors, and small sound systems. Oversaw computer music lab, a teaching lab that utilized music scoring, composing, recording, programming languages, sound processing, and audio editing software. Trained faculty, staff, and students in a variety of operating systems, digital audio software packages, and music programming languages. Administrated complex multi-platform (Mac OS, Windows, and UNIX/Linux) network and server with specialized A/V requirements. Organized and implemented on-line facility and equipment reservation system. Designed and maintained web pages and calendars. Engineered live sound and recordings for concerts and special events. Supervised seven technical student employees in charge of stage management, live sound engineering, and recording for concerts, special events, and student ensembles. Maintained inventory of all equipment and software for the department. Registered and upgraded as necessary all software licenses, hardware serial numbers, and firmware for all inventoried technical equipment and software.

An unusual and exciting part of my job the involved the 's move from old WWII barracks to a newly renovated facility, Benildus Hall. As Technical Manager I collaborated with the architect, the project manager, and music program faculty on acoustics, design, layout, and security of the recording studio, performance space, electrical systems, and network infrastructure. I also purchased, installed, and maintained all computer systems (hardware and software, client machines and servers), network equipment, and audio equipment (digital and analog) in our new facility. The last semester I was there we successfully finished moving in to our new facility, an achievement of which I am particularly proud.

Presented through Apple's invitation at EDUCAUSE on the University of Arizona's pilot Podcast Producer server which I have successfully installed and supported since Podcast Producer's introduction in Mac OSX version 10.5 Server's release. In the Fall 2008 semester, during our Podcast Producer pilot study, we automated processing and posting of audio and video podcasts and streaming media for pilot participants, including all University of Arizona College of Medicine class podcasts.

In my music technology class at the 2008 music camp, we listened to some historic musique concrete compositions, then created our own, using portable audio recorders to collect sounds, and Garage Band to assemble our sound collages.

Managed complex technical and stage setups for annual electroacoustic music festival. Technical requirements for SFIFEM tended to be extremely complicated and utilize a variety of both original and commercial software packages, MIDI, and audio devices.
