Accutronics International Inc Mount Pleasant, Sc 1987 present

Wholesale distributor of electronic components, supplying high-tech board level parts at the manufacturing level for production. Clients included: Rockwell International, Honeywell, Northrop Grumman Corp, Suntron, Datacard, Sperry Corporation, LaBarge Inc

Operations Manager

Pioneered, independently funded and launched an extremely successful ISO-9001 and NEDA standards compliant electronics distribution company in New York with branch offices in California, Colorado and South Carolina. Singlehandedly founded the company establishing a high profile account base and developing a reliable vendor relationships. Slowly gained momentum and attention in the market, resulting in several competitor employees coming on board allowing expansion to branch offices. Entered the market during a cyclical shortage of memory chips existed allowing the business to explode with increased revenue and profit margins.

The market being cyclical, the supply ramped up to meet demand so I diversified some capital and purchased a retail card and gift store; a recession proof business to be sold at a later date when the market conditions in the electronic distribution arena revolved. As forecasted, the electronics did boom again so expansion was needed. I purchased a 3000 sq ft building from my banker at below market rate. I simultaneously acted as a general contractor renovating the building while my main focus was on the electronics business. After several successful years and a turn in the economy, I downsized and moved to Charleston, South Carolina in 1999. Business was strong until 2001 when the trading involved China. Sub-standard reconditioned and counterfeit parts infiltrated the market having a devastating effect on the entire independent distribution channels. As a safeguard to the conditions, I implemented a service of offering pre-tested parts with a 100% warrantee of zero failures. Such a measure enabled me to retain most of my clients until market conditions softened due to the current economic conditions could not sustain significant business support.
