8/1995 to Present Pediacare Volunteer and Mentor
Initially I was a general volunteer for Pediacare. This is an agency which provides a variety of
services, such as art therapy, counseling and after school and weekend programs for children who
are HIV+ or have AIDS as well as to the family members of individuals who are HIV+ or have AIDS.
All services are provided from a nonmedical perspective. In the past, I have assisted with the after
school program, chaperoned fieldtrips and served at group dinners/other events. For the last 13
years I have been a mentor to a then child, now young woman who is HIV+.
