EXPERIENCE
*/** - ******* ******** ************ II, DØ
Experiment,, Batavia,
IL.
Helping to re-designing web pages for the DØ Experiment.
Implementing new DØ web pages and re-organizing internal
storage of pages.
Helping to rewrite DØ software using C++ and OO design
techniques.
Co-managing a group maintaining a ~1.5 Gb DEC Rdb/VMS database.
Evaluated C++ & OOAD instructors for in house training
of Fermilab staff.
Committee member for deciding future direction of DØ
software development as pertains to programming languages, data
structures, document and news management, text editing, code management,
compilers/debuggers, GUI editors/builders, and database management.
Designed, prototyped and tested a real-time data acquisition
system in C using a real-time operating system.
6/91 - 6/93 Computer Professional I, DØ Experiment,
Fermilab, Batavia, IL.
Designed, implemented, and maintained a MOTIF user interface
that enabled experimenters to monitor hardware and software failures.
Implemented SQL embedded querying routines for a DEC Rdb/VMS
database.
Taught myself MOTIF and later took a formal MOTIF class from
DEC.
3/90 - 6/91 Programmer I, DØ Experiment, Fermilab,
Batavia, IL.
Designed, implemented and maintained a client/server based
package which enables experimenters to trigger detector hardware
in order to obtain physics data for analysis.
2/89 - 4/89 Programmer, DØ Experiment,,
Upton, NY.
Designed, upgraded, and maintained databases used for data
manipulation and analysis.
3/88 - 12/88 Graduate Researcher,,
Troy, NY.
Designed and implemented a user interface for a Diagnostic
Engineering eXpert (DEX) system using a CASE tool called Knowledge
Craft for Digital Equipment Corporation.
Instructed DEC personnel and new students on how to use the
DEX system.
Provided technical assistance in using Knowledge Craft to
other research projects.
Wrote a user manual explaining how to use the DEX system and
how it will aide the user in creating diagnostic tests for new
products entered into DEX.
