Responsible for planning, implementation and marketing of activities for The Center for Literature and Theatre at

Miami Dade College and its signature event, Miami Book Fair International, the largest and most prestigious book

fair in the U.S. The Fair attracts the top literary names from around the world, including Pulitzer Prize winners, Nobel

Laureates, political dignitaries, and celebrities. The Fair draws more than 300,000 visitors each year.

Responsibilities at the Book Fair:

Coordinate traditional and digital media pr and marketing strategy to promote Miami Book Fair International

and four hundred plus authors

Act as Book Fair spokesperson by making appearances on local media outlets including television and NPR

to promote author programming.

Work with publishing executives, publicists and literary agents to create a variety of quality programming for

high-profile authors.

Negotiate terms for presenting authors and dignitaries, coordinate travel, prepare contracts, and other logistics

for program guests.

Responsibilities at The Center:

Create innovative and expert programming for Miami Book Fair International and other Center programs.

Supervise and implement various reading initiatives, programs and workshops created for the benefit of MDC

faculty and students as well as the Miami Dade public school system and the general public.

Work closely with faculty to maximize author interactions and program effectiveness.

Act as liaison between The Center and various organizations such as The National Endowment for the Arts and

Miami based foreign consulates.

Participate in grant writing process, meeting budget goals and year-end reporting.
