o Dental Professionals Against Violence: (2-years, $200,000): developed proposal and secured funding
to develop a train-the-trainer model to deliver continuing education programs to over 1,200 dental
professionals on recognizing and responding to signs of abuse and neglect.
o Practice-Based Research Network: (4-years, $2.5 million): developed proposal and secured funding to
conduct a double-blind, randomized clinical trial within 13 dental practices to reduce dental disease
through aggressive preventive intervention.
o Guidelines for dental care during pregnancy: (2.5 years, $365,000): developed proposal and
secured funding to collaborate with national experts in dentistry and perinatology to develop and
disseminate evidence-based guidelines for health professionals and patient education materials.
