Daniel R. Burek, Jr.

I am a dynamic, seasoned supervisor with over thirty years' experience in different facets of fabricating, welding, metal forming and machining. I possess a work ethic that I believe is hard to match. I have been involved in several high-end architectural projects in the public eye. I have owned my own business on two separate occasions, manufacturing custom cars trucks and motorcycles. Some of my projects have received national recognition. I have a proven track record of success in managing large industrial environments and creating a lean, organized, safe and profitable shop. I always enjoy a challenge. I have proven myself many times over when odds seem insurmountable or a particular industry is in trouble and strong leadership and educated "hands-on" training are needed to redirect efforts to a profitable situation. I have an unusual set of skills that allow me to fit between senior management and direct application on the production floor.

My understanding of the fabrication industry and my previous fabrication skills allow me to be very diverse in not only acting as management, and giving direct instructions and training, but I can also meet the customer's needs and balance the needs of senior management. Although I have no official engineering degree, I have a large amount of field experience and mechanical ability. My ability to "fabricate on the fly" has awarded me the respect of many other colleagues (and engineers) in the past, and proven to be a reliable information source when highly specialized situations arise that require a seasoned fabricator or practical engineered solution.

I have utilized "LEAN" manufacturing and "5-S" principles, long before they became an institution for corporations. My theories are simple and based on the "Toyota principles of manufacturing" and they have been proven effective and profitable. I have implemented programs for time management and reductions in waste/scrap in many situations with great success. I have experience with several safety management systems in varying degrees and follow strict OSHA guidelines and ISO 9001 principles.

I am an ASE Certified Master Technician for automobile, light trucks and medium duty trucks. I have several (proprietary) welding certifications. I have numerous (proprietary) management, ISO and safety related training courses. I have basic PC skills with MS office, Word, Excel and IBM Lotus Notes.

In closing, I am looking for an opportunity in a corporation to use my experience and skills to either create or to operate a large scale fabrication or production facility. I believe my determination and work ethic combined with my management techniques and my proven ability to diagnose and trouble shoot problem situations is a key element for success.

I welcome the chance to meet the next challenging situation.
