Experience Summary

Over twenty years of experience in Army training and operations. Performed extensive training analyses for the Army`s Brigade Combat Team Modernization (BCTM). Principle instructional designer/developer for Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI) for the Small Unmanned Ground Vehicle (SUGV) being developed as part of BCTM. Army certified master instructor with significant experience designing and developing training programs for the Army`s Aviation program at Ft. Rucker. Directed plans, training and operations for the General Ellis D. Parker Combat Attack Helicopter Battalion of the year. Selected and performed numerous special duty assignments to include Operations/Training supervisor for a resident training detachment; Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Course (ANCOC) Instructor and Branch Chief; On-Site Inspection Agency Training NCO, Operations Chief and Branch Chief; Defense Threat Reduction Agency Consequence Management Advisory Team Chief.

Army Training

As part of the BCTM training Integrated Product Team, responsible for conducting extensive collective and individual task analyses in support of training design and development for BCTM. These analyses are supporting the development of Training Support Packages being developed for BCTM and will be implemented using embedded training technologies. Collective task analysis focused on Bde level operations that will be impacted by BCTM capabilities to include projecting the impact of Joint, Interagency and Multinational (JIM) forces on Brigade Combat Team operations. Additionally, extensive analysis was performed on leader and battle staff tasks for the FBCT. These analysis activities included decomposition of tasks performed by leaders and members of the battle staff. These tasks were further decomposed to identify the cognitive skills and knowledge items required to support task performance.

Selected by the BCTM project team to lead the design and development of the first IMI lesson for the SUGV. As part of this effort, created all storyboards, lesson scripts, and checks on learning. Worked closely with SUGV subject matter experts including SUGV design engineers in developing course content. This product was received exceptionally well by the Army customer.

During Army active duty, responsible for training and operations to include identifying needs; developing training strategies; design and development of instructional materials; execution and oversight of training events; follow up evaluations; workflow scheduling and prioritization; training/operational budgeting and coordination with adjacent and higher headquarters.

Served as a primary instructor/courseware developer for the Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Course at the U.S. Army Aviation Center, Fort Rucker. Developed and presented aviation principles lesson plans. Developed advanced, computer based simulation training program that was recognized by the Fort Rucker Commanding General and FORSCOM Command Sergeant Major. Responsible for conducting hands-on training that emphasized all facets of aviation operations. Developed assessment materials as part of curriculum development. Selected to be the Aviation Branch Chief. Certified Master Instructor.

Provided training on digital conferencing systems, and trained personnel on arms control treaties.

Army Operations

Developed an aviation tracking plan that allowed superiors to immediately see aircraft status and training needs. Worked with a diverse reserve component organization to build a training and operations plan where none existed. Tracked status of U.S. and foreign arms inspection teams that facilitated immediate communication with the State Department, Joint Chiefs of Staff, DIA, FBI, CIA and other organizations. Developed and executed a plan to combine the On- Site Inspection Agency and Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) operations centers. Handpicked to serve on the DTRA`s Consequence Management Advisory Team. Chosen by superiors to take care of all Soldier, family and facilities issues as the rear detachment First Sergeant during the recent deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Personnel Management

Managed administrative, logistical and training functions in organizations with up to 730 employees. Hand picked to fill executive level leadership and staff assignments that require exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Responsible for employee assignments, promotions, reductions, awards, discipline, finances, legal matters, vacation scheduling, EO, medical emergencies, appointments and family concerns. Conducted performance appraisals, counseling sessions and career training.
