Regional Manager – Community Outreach, Mukta Project funded by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation under Avahan Initiative Since November 2011 till date.

My job responsibilities are to develop and implement community mobilization strategies to develop and strengthen Community Based Organizations (CBO). Preparing Partner NGOs for the transition of Targeted Interventions (TIs) to government.

Achievements:Innovative apporoaches were implemented to ensure equal representation and motivated FSW and MSM community members to form their CBO in a democratic way.Provided technical support in formulating bye-laws, memorandum of association and registering these CBOs with Charity Commissioner office under societies registration act 1860 and Mumbai Public Trust Act 1950.Facilitated processes, activitites and excercises with CBO executive board members to prepare vision, mission, objectives and priorities of the CBO.Prepared partenre NGOs for the transition by ensuring alighment of program and human resource as per the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) guidelines. Successfully transitioned Targeted Interventions to Maharashtra State AIDS Control Society (MSACS). Also worked with MSACS POs to prepare plan for the post transition support.Post transition technical support to partner NGOs along with MSACS representatives.

My job responsibilities were to ensure the effective implementation of project activities through partner NGOs. Coordinate and facilitate training for various cadres. Facilitate periodic performance reviews and make strategies for further improvements in achieving performance indicators.

Achievements:Considering the challenges of working with some of the partner NGOs in Budhwarpeth, Pune I was assigned responsibility to manage partnership with NGOs working in Pune. I have succeded in bringing all the NGOs in one umbrella and accomplish all the performance indicators.Carried out various initiatives and activities to consolidate interventions by conducting preriodic site revalidation, baseline assessment, monthly review, need based capacity building of all the Partner NGOs. Facilitated small studies to understand condom requirement and social entitlements. Worked with partner NGOs in planning and implementing voluntary HIV testing as a part of Jai Ho! exercise by ensuring intensified efforts in the field. As a result of these efforts project covered more than 80% performance.Efficiently facilitated sessions in the national level training for DAPCU (District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit) staff on NACP III and role of DAPCU.Developed strong rapport and linkage with DAPCU, MSACS for their support in addressing government service related issues also facilitated advocacy efforts with the help of Centre For Advocacy and Research (CFAR) and Lawyers Collective.

Senior Project Officer – Community Outreach, Mukta Project (From February 2009 to October 2010)

Providing technical support and guidance to implementing partner NGOs through monitoring, supportive supervision and capacity building. Supported partner NGOs in improving quality of documentation and reporting. Represented organization in the various forums as technical expert.

Achievements:Efficiently managed project interventions at Beed, Nasik and Nandurbar districts of Maharashtra state.Provided technical support to partenrs in improving MSM intervention and coordinated efforts for State level Federation of MSM under Mukta from all ten districts of Maharashtra.Played active role in the on field handholding and annual evaluations of the FSW targeted interventions supported by MSACS.Supported partner NGOs in developing linkages with social marketing agencies for Condoms and lubricants.Introduced tracking tools for the partner NGO staff to track their work and performance effectively.Prepared partner NGOs for the smooth transition to government.

My responsibilities were to ensure smooth implementation of project activities through partner NGOs. Providing regular monitoring and supportive supervision to partner NGOs. Support partner NGOs in preparing their project proposals, annual action plan, monthly and quarterly progress reports. Facilitated linkages with government and other key stakeholders

Achievements:Effectively handled interventions in the low performing districts (Beed and Nandurbar) to ensure compliance as per the expected standards. Made efforts for establishing and strengthening systems to ensure effective and quality implementation.Played active role as team member in conducting mass events such as Navi Pahat for FSWs, Mokale Aakash for MSM and PLHIV convention for both FSWs and MSM.Coordinated efforts for State Level convention of People Living with HIV (PLHIV), strengthening of PLHIV support groups. My responsibilities were to identifying and managing partnerships with local NGOs to implement youth and intervention for Most At Risk Populations (MARP) at Bikaner district of Rajasthan. Conducting need based trainings for NGO functionaries, project staff, community volunteers, government and other key stakeholders. Supported partner NGOs in documenting efforts, periodic reports and case studies and success stories.

Achievements:With the effective supportive supervision helped partner NGOs in achieving project goals in stipulated time.Considering the need for improvement in the performance motivated partner NGOs in implementing innovative strategies.Handled additional responsibility as Youth Coordinator to ensure effective implementation of intervention for youth from in-school and out-of-school.Coordinated and facilitated various trainings for various cadres such as ANM, Anganwadi Workers, block and district level health, ICDS and PRI officials. Developed strong linkages with district administration as a received very good support from Collectorate, Health, Education and PRI members, other key stakeholders truckers association, Apollo tyres, Indian Oil Corporation and Agri Market Yard committee. I was involved in preparing strategic planning and implementation of BCC activities, Identification and capacity building of Peer Educators (PE), Social Marketing of condoms in collaboration of SM agencies.
