Recirculating Aquaculture Systems Technician January 2011 - Present
Currently operating the wetlab of TCFFI`s land-based closed containment aquaculture production facility. Duties include; maintenance and care of the facilities, production systems and equipment; egg rearing, fish husbandry, fish sampling, and harvesting. Collecting, summarizing, and interpreting data on fish growth, feeding, disease, mortality, and water quality. Writing short reports. Identifying and treating disease. Performing preventative maintenance and maintaining facility biosecurity. Responding to alarms. Giving tours to the public.
Student Research Intern October 2009 - January 2011
Assisted with various research projects in RAS and flow through systems. Summarized and interpreted data. Assisted with grow out trials for several species of fish including Arctic char, Coho salmon, Atlantic salmon, Rainbow trout, and Yellow perch. Designed and executed a research project on the relationship between CO2 levels and mortality in rainbow trout fry.
