Recent Work Experience

Foundry 9 April 2011 - PresentInformation Architect

I am currently working as an Information Architect/User Experience Designer on accounts like Chase and Lincoln Financial. I build systems from the ground up based on talking to business analysts and getting client feedback so I can get an understanding of the clients, companies, and users needs and come up with design patterns and create the experiences that best express those needs. My day-to-day activities include mostly creating sitemaps and wireframes in Visio although I do like to sketch and draw before I get into the process. I have been studying User Experience, Design, and Human Computer Interaction for 3 years before this position and so with my experience, my tech knowledge, my art background and creativity, and now my IA experience, I have the knowledge, understanding and tools to help build systems for any company.

Majority of my time is spent fixing bugs and creating new functionality mostly using JavaScript yet I am now the "go to" man for CSS related issues. It is a waterfall method of working with some aspects of Agile(SCRUM) like the 2 week sprints and status meetings.

Implementing the environment on my local machine I was in charge of maintenance and doing builds to make sure the environment was accurate and up to date. All the Tapestry framework elements where utilizing CVS for version control. The other half of the shopping cart tools did not use the Tapestry framework but utilized its own MVC setup which forced me to learn JSP.
