OBJECTIVE To obtain a full-time position as a Petroleum/ Process/ Field Engineer.
EDUCATION M.S. in Petroleum Engineering GPA 4.0/4.0
University of Missouri-Rolla Jan.2003 –Sept.2005
B.S. in Marine Engineering GPA 3.4/4.0
Marine Engineering & Research Institute, Calcutta, India Sept. 2000
EXPERIENCE Graduate Research Assistant Aug.2003-Sept.2005
Department of Geological & Petroleum Engineering, UMR
Presented a Thesis Dissertation – Characterization of Bluejacket and Warner Heavy Oil Reservoirs (shallow heavy oil reservoirs located in Missouri-Kansas region) at pore level as part of DOE Project.Analyzed Well Logs and Core data to subdivide the formations into flow units on the basis of porosity and permeability variationsPerformed X-ray Diffraction (XRD) and X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) experiments to analyze the mineral and clay content in every flow unit.Examined Thin-Section images to study petrography of all the flow units– determination of the texture, sorting, fabric, and porosity of the primary, secondary, and fracture types, as well as the relative abundance of the detrital and authigenic minerals.Performed characterization of pore space using images and ATLAS (Digital Microscopy Imaging) software– measurement of porosity, pore size, shape, specific surface, and pore-shape distribution. Determination of pore type distribution by volume percentage.Developing the Relative Permeability Curve for the Bluejacket reservoir
Vroon V.B., Netherland Apr. 2002 - Nov. 2002 Worked as Junior Engineer on Chemical Tanker and used to do watchkeeping and maintenance work on all the machineries (Main Engine, Aux Engine, Boiler, Compressor, Pumps etc.) on board
Unix Line Pte Ltd., Singapore Apr. 2001 – Aug. 2001
Worked as Junior Engineer on Chemical Tanker and used to do watchkeeping and maintenance work on all the machineries (Main Engine, Aux Engine, Boiler, Compressor, Pumps etc.) on board
PROJECTS Developing a comprehensive Waterflooding software program using Visual Basic 6.0 - It involves calculation of oil recovery for piston type and Buckley Leverett type displacements considering both linear and pattern flow using Craig’s model and also Streamtube model. It also features Vertical Displacement in linear and areal models. It is also planned to integrate the boundary effect with the wellbore flow by using Boundary Element Method
Developed Inflow Performance Curve software using Visual Basic 6.0 – It’s a basic program that includes theoretical and various Fields methods to determine the flow rates at different drawdown pressures and to generate IPR curves
Well Log Interpretation - Evaluated subsurface geological formations, identified Net Pay zones and calculated total amount of OIP using QLA software used by Schlumberger
Drilling and Well Completions - Submitted Technical Papers on Coiled Tubing Deployed Microdrilling and Underbalanced Drilling-Opportunities & Challenges
3-D Seismic Interpretation - Covered Data Importation, Faults & Horizons interpretation and finally prediction for stratigrafic traps using Kingdom Suite 7.1 software
Effect of Stress on Fractured Rock - Examined the data obtained from the experiment performed in the Colorado School of Mines Experimental Mine on a rock block for changes in the fracture properties and the rock mass due to change in the load
Advanced Well Log Interpretation - Presented Technical Paper titled Log Analysis of Fractured Reservoirs covering the estimation of fracture parameters & calculation of OOIP
