ZHALIL GIZATULIN (bass)

Zhalil Gizatulin is a soloist of the State Opera&Ballet Theatre named by Abay in

Almaty and the professor of the Ferroni Russian-Italian Academy. He is a laureate

of the International Opera Festival in Turkey in 2000.

Zhalil Gizatulin was born in Almaty. He studied at the Kazan State

Conservatory. After graduating from the Conservatory in 1989 he worked as a

soloist in the Opera Studio in Almaty. In 1994 he was invited to the State

Opera&Ballet Theatre named by Abay. He has appeared in many operas where

performed the title roles Don Bazilio ( The Barber of Seville by G. Rossini),

Sparafucile ( Rigoletto by G. Verdi), Ramphis ( Aida by G. Verdi), Escamilio

( Carmen by Bizet), Mephistophel ( Faust by Ch.Gounod), Colline ( La

Boheme by Puccini), Aleko and Old Gipsy ( Aleko by Rakhmaninov), Rene

( Iolanta by P.Tchakovsky), Gremen ( Yevgene Onegin by P.Tchaikovsky),

Tomsky and Surin ( Spades Queen by P.Tchaikovsky), Konchak ( Prince Igor

by A. Borodin), Boris and Varlam ( Boris Godunov by M. Musorgsky), Sobakin

( The Tsar s Bride by Rimsky-Korsakov).

Zhalil s concert repertory includes romances by Russin and foreign composers,

arias from operas by Mozart, Gendel, Schubert, Schumann, Rossini, Bizet.

He has been touring both at home and abroad: Russia, Germany, Turkey, China,

Ciprus.
