In addition, working with the SDLC and Enterprise Life Cycle (ELC) process and Interfacing with the Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA mapping framework. Performing security assessments to ensure compliance with the NIST 800-53 and IRS agency specific security requirements. Asses both application and general support system (GSS) security configurations and implementation. Involved with Project Management and the project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Requirements Analysis, Project Initiation artifacts/milestones, and Certification & Accredidation (C&A) process, Working with various frameworks such as CMMI, COBIT, and ITIL.

August 08 – October 09 Tritech Enterprises, Inc. Middleware Consultant - IRS Middleware Support Services (MITS Contract)

Responsibilities included working with EUP/RUP Web Portal access issues in a production and application development environment. The Employee User Portal (EUP) is a Web hosting infrastructure. It supports an Intranet portal that allows IRS employees to access business applications and data (e.g. Integrated Financial Services (IFS), e-Services (e-Services), Modernized E-File (MeF). Employees' registration and authentication is required, which is supported by Enterprise Directory and Authentication Service (EDAS).

The EUP consists of Web and Web Application Server platforms, Cisco Pix Firewall and Alteon Load Balancer equipment. Some of these Portal issues involved Registered User Portal (RUP) as well. So a typical web site would include: EUP/RUP login Page, Registration page, Password reset page, Web Construction Page. Behind the scenes you would have Alteon load balancers and Cisco Pix Firewall.

Presently, I conducted various portal checks/tests via Triage and bridge calls. IBM Tivoli suite of software products & Panorama Opnet are used to do Portal analysis at the packet level. Some of these portal recovery issues might include recycling Application/Web servers, stop/start various processes that may have hung the system (JVM,JSP,and Threads).

Worked extensively with Solaris and Wintel systems. Trained new users with Tivoli products. The software applications used to monitor/resolve portal issues included: Tivoli Monitoring and Transaction Performance (Big Board software), Tivoli Enterprise Portal(TEP), Tivoli Enterprise Console(TEC), Panorama Opnet, ITCAM, amd Tivoli Netview.

Worked in resolving and Troubleshooting P1,P2 tickets that come into our Middleware queue via ITAMS help desk system. Use of VPN/ERAP to log in from home via company provided laptop when on-call to resolve P1/P2 Tickets. Documented and captured data via use of Synthetic Transaction Investigator(STI) Report: Round Trip Graph, Average Response Time Graph, Availability Graph. This script-job data was then merged into a Portal Report that was sent to IRS executives every morning.

Other responsibilities included: Daily Prime Call/Daily Status Review, Attendance at Change Control Board(CCB), and RRRB bridge call meetings which focused on updating software that could impact Portal security integration/penetration processes. Generate a daily report that reflects downtime for the EUP, RUP and the various portal applications based on Priority 1, and 2 ITAMS tickets. Statistics from this report, for e-Services availability, feed into the e-Services Monthly Statistics Report.

Worked with Tivoli Management Region(TMR) to get access to do log file analysis. Worked with various IRS in-house front-end and backend application programs: Mef, IRFOF,E-Services, IFS, ITNS, TDS, IEIN,TTB,SAAS,TIGTA,AMDAS,EDAS, etc. Additional software work included: SiteMinder, Etrust, WebSphere AS, Tivoli Directory Server,X.509, MQ, IIS, DB2 8.2,SOA, SOAP, XML, VmWare, Web Services, IBM HTTP Server.
