Lead database engineer: Designed and implemented data warehouse, in collaboration with the database hardware group, containing over 35 TB of scientific data for $300 million Jet Propulsion Laboratory/NASA project. Collaborated with all other subsystem engineers to model data and define archived and released data contents. Used lessons learned from earlier data warehouse project, one of the earliest Informix DBMS databases over 3 TB in size.

* Data from > $320 million JPL/NASA projects now provided to astronomers worldwide for use in astronomy research.

Lead ETL/SQL software engineer: Designed and developed data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) software responsible for populating multi-terabyte data warehouses for two different projects, in C and Perl, throughout entire software development life-cycle. Created procedures, SQL software, and SQL scripts to generate released data products.

* Multi-million dollar projects completed on schedule and under budget.

Lead software engineer: Designed and developed program to remove artifacts from 2 TB of astronomy data for $20 million NASA project. Developed new method for characterization of image artifacts using tens of thousands of images; managed characterization with assistance from data analyst.

* Improved data reliability from 90% to over 99.99%. Team received NASA Group Achievement Award, leading to new contracts totaling approximately $300 million.

Managed multiple priorities: Lead engineer for two major processing subsystems on a single project with 2TB data processing stream through entire development cycle. Lead engineer for different subsystem on another project, while advising image artifact removal software engineer using previous experience, and participating in characterization of image artifacts.

* Met all major deadlines in both cases.

Excellent communication skills: Wrote approximately a dozen software subsystem design documents and relevant documentation as subsystem engineer for each project's Data Release Documentation. Presented sub-group progress at major project meeting (Planck HFI Core Team Meeting, Dec. 2006). Wrote tutorials and instructed groups how to use SQL and proprietary software.

Fast, flexible learner: Became proficient in two programming languages required by different projects, C and Perl, in less than two months each.
