Business Owner

I started my business In January of 2009 because my husband had been unemployed for some time so I decided to venture out and see what kind of professional name I could make for myself, to support my family of four, at the time. I started painting sawblades and river rocks in the beginning and eventually ventured into painting murals for residential rooms, which then exploded into painting for professional businesses.

After I got pregnant with my third child I could not really do murals anymore so I picked up a crochet hook and started making stuffed animals and character hats. The crochet hats did well last Christmas (2011) so during the year of 2012 I started writing and publishing my own patterns. I have advertised on Facebook and etsy.com. Social media has worked wonders and a month ago I began to sell on etsy.com.

In the future I hope to get back into mural painting but at the moment I've been taking care of my three small children by myself as my husband and I have separated. It's been enjoyable being able to do something from home and make some money and be able to care for my children as well.

I have other experience in many different areas of work from fast food to being a Customer Service Representative for the Deaf and Hard of hearing. I am excellent with customer calls and I consider myself to be patient and understanding. With my fast food jobs I demonstrate being able to count money and keep a register.

I am working part time for a pottery art shop right now and am learning how to close, balance the register at night, and all the other job requirements that come with running a store by myself.

High School Diploma art

I attended and graduated from Hope Christian High from 1999-2003. I really enjoyed the school being it is a college-prep school and looked forward to the biblical education I would receive through this highly-nominated educational program.

I took Art for 3 our of the 4 years I attended, and every year won best artist for the school. My senior year I brought home 13 blue ribbons. I also won Best of Show on one of my favorite oil pastel pieces. Hope Christian taught me to break out of my shell and to accomplish my dream of being an artist.
