My career always has been in the automotive field. I started as an auto dismantler and worked my way up to the General Manager during my 20 years at Cambridge Auto Parts. During this time I ran a award winning, successful business. But the owner desired to retire and it was time to move on. In 2001 I opened my own used auto parts brokering firm. This was a very successful business. But I drove several hundreds of miles daily and when fuel was approaching $4.00 a gallon this cost was taking all my profits. In 2007 I went to work for Sports Auto World Kia as their parts manager. At the time of my hire I was unaware that they were in financial trouble, and began layoffs. The service department lost their advisor and I started assisting the service manager. I continued both positions until the company failed in December of 2009. Soon after leaving I became ill and was unable to work.But after a long recovery and no recurrence I have been cleared by my doctors to return to work, with the only one restriction, no heavy lifting. This is why I am looking for a service position.
