company that produced emulators and other design tools for RISC
micro-processors. Responsibilities included production, quality
assurance, document control, engineering services, materials management
and facilities.
Identified source of delay in project schedule which caused major
customer relations problems and put corrective action in place to solve
problem and worked with customers to quickly upgrade systems already in
the field.
Implemented a short-term inventory control system which reduced inventory
by over 25% within three months.
Updated inventory control system with a PC based MRP system that resulted
in a 50 % increase in on-time deliveries.
Analyzed work process and aptitude level of production workers and
technicians and implemented a comprehensive plan to improve communications
and hand-off between work groups and upgraded the over-all proficiency
level. Change resulted in major reduction in re-work requirements and a
30% reduction in customer returns. Overtime expenditures were also
reduced by over $120,000 annually.

a world class manufacturing capability for a company where all previous
manufacturing had been done in Germany. Force is a major supplier of VME
boards and systems.
Successfully organized and staffed the entire manufacturing process,
including assembly and test, materials, purchasing, inventory control,
quality assurance, shipping and receiving, manufacturing engineering and
facilities.
Negotiated strategic OEM supply relationships that resulted in significant
profit margin improvement and competitive delivery advantages.
Increased Gross Profit Margins by 25% by transferring the production of
higher volume products from Germany to the U.S. operation.
Reduced in-warranty product failure rate from 5% to less than 1% by
implementing a temperature cycling stress test process.
Installed a unique just-in-time inventory system that allowed a $300,000
a month increase in shipments without increased inventory or additional
manufacturing support personnel.

Vice President - Operations. Selected to manage production, materials,
test engineering, manufacturing engineering, new product team and
facilities for a division of Gould that designed and manufactured logic
analyzers and development systems.
Successfully managed the work of more than 350 employees, which included
production, manufacturing support, engineering and senior management
personnel. Integrated the products, personnel, documentation and cultures of two
diverse organizations into a single cohesive and productive team.
Planned and implemented the physical relocation of two companies into a
new facility without an interruption in production.
Reduced over-all manufacturing costs by moving most of the high labor
content processes to a subsidiary plant in Mexico.
MILLENNIUM SYSTEMS, Cupertino, CA
1973-1981
Vice President - Manufacturing. Was one of five co-founders of highly
successful business that designed and manufactured in-circuit emulators
and other development tools for micro-processor applications.
Established production process for start-up company which grew to more
than 100 manufacturing employees.
Implemented a fully integrated MRP system ahead of schedule and under
