Objective

Information Technology Consultant and Business Owner

Summary of Qualifications

Over 30 years technical leadership and managerial experience across a wide range of technologies. Primary areas of expertise include application development, team dynamics, technology assessment and implementation, and project management. Skilled at leadership and management of Information Technology professionals. Extensive experience with managing and training staff in order to improve employee morale, and implementation of processes and tools to increase software quality. Maintained excellent client relationships throughout my career. Interacted successfully with clients at multiple organizational levels, including the CEO level of a Fortune 20 corporation. Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. Career Highlights

l Started a successful Internet Consulting business in the Oklahoma City area, focusing on providing a wide range of Internet services targeted toward small and medium sized businesses in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area. Grew the business from no customers to over 70 in five years.

l Built an organization responsible for collaborative application development, starting with 3 untrained developers and eventually growing to over 25 highly skilled and highly regarded people. Added over $1,000,000 in yearly revenue for CSC while strengthening the company's ability to compete in the collaborative and knowledge management environments. Extended this staff to add 20 additional offshore developers.

l Directed a 35 person organization in a newly created Data Management division in DuPont's IT department. Reduced the redundancy and improved the quality of the core databases for systems across the company, resulting in timelier product shipments, improved customer relationships, and more accurate personnel information.

l Conducted software and hardware research for Conoco's distributed computing environment, working in concert with experts on my team as well as outside consultants from Gartner Group, IBM, Apple, Lotus, and Borland. Published results in a company-wide newsletter, providing guidance to businesses desiring to deploy PC and LAN technologies.

l Accelerated the adoption of collaborative technology by DuPont upper management by developing and conducting customized Lotus Notes training for the CEO and several Executive Vice Presidents. Reduced their learning curve, improved their productivity, and enhanced their ability to communicate globally.

l Managed the evaluation, recommendation, and implementation of collaborative technology for DuPont by meeting with stakeholders to determine business drivers, developing a project plan, overseeing an implementation team, and putting into operation hardware, software, and procedures. Demonstrated the value of the technology and solidified the existing user base, providing support, economies of scale, and structure, which eventually became a 70,000 user Lotus Notes / Domino environment.

l Launched the establishment of a development environment for my Collaborative Applications Development team, by approving the purchase and implementation of hardware, software and training for all staff members. Considerably reduced rework of staff and improved their ability to develop, manage, test, and deploy software while simultaneously improving the quality of client deliverables.

l Translated business requirements into process improvements, software and database implementations, and collaborative infrastructure architectures. Implemented a multitude of software programs, physical database instances, and client / server, mainframe, and personal computer environments resulting in fulfilled client requirements.

l Implemented SEI CMM Level 3 processes and procedures across the CSC Collaborative Solutions team. Improved the team's ability to meet project deadlines with superior software quality, resulting in higher client satisfaction, future business opportunities, and a reputation as the premier collaborative software development organization at CSC.

l Participated in CSC's Notes Management Group, a team of leaders from all CSC business units charged with the responsibility of managing and improving CSC's Notes / Domino infrastructure. Recommended processes and procedures, evaluated software and hardware solutions, communicated to local management, and decreased the cost of ownership for CSC.

l Provided recommendations, support, and evaluated options, as an early adapter of Palm technology, to integrate into the collaborative infrastructure across the company. Palm based handhelds are now widely used across the corporation, and fully supported by the IT support function.

l Assessed the software portfolio and team organization of the Safety, Health, and Environmental applications team when I assumed management of that group. Rejuvenated failed projects and got teams back on track, reestablishing client trust and motivation to complete the projects.
