Assistant Professor responsible for teaching Technical Communication

courses within the School of Engineering. Courses

taught include TCO 341, Technical Communication; TCO 285,

Document & Web Design; TCO 325, Multimedia; TCO 363, Instructional Design; TCO 425, Advanced Multimedia, TCO 620, Managing Multimedia

(graduate & online); TCO 665, Instructional Design (graduate and online); and EGR 108, Professional Practices. Also serving as

freshmen advisor and an active member of several Mercer University

and Mercer School of Engineering committees.

Company, Pensacola (1997 - 2002)

Manager, Interactive Multimedia Production

Performed as Manager of Interactive Multimedia Production with

oversight of a number of interactive multimedia production tasks,

including the Navy's Training Support Agency Requirements tasking,

an effort to reengineer legacy classroom instruction for the cryptology

and intelligence communities to web-based instruction deployed on

the Navy E-Learning Network and in various Navy schoolhouse automated

electronic classrooms.

Responsible for oversight of other military and commercial web-based

training production projects including work for the Cendant Corporation,

Century 21 Real Estate Corporation, and U.S. Navy Hawkeye computer-based

courseware development project. Responsible for overall project

management including project planning & scheduling, personnel

management, interface design & development, customer interaction,

and progress reports and meetings.Manage application of standard

instructional design processes to design and develop interactive

multimedia courseware on the individual and team levels. Daily use

of interactive multimedia instruction development equipment, tools,

and software, including ToolBook Instructor, Designer's Edge, Visio

and Inspiration (flowcharting), Authorware, Dreamweaver, PhotoShop

and numerous graphic arts programs, and all Microsoft operating

software using both Microsoft NT and Windows 2000. Extremely knowledgeable

and highly competent in the use of all DoD/Navy doctrine for Instructional

Systems Development (ISD), authoring languages and products for

rapid prototyping and designing courseware, and research into the

efficiencies of courseware development.

Raytheon Contracts & Proposals

U.S. Navy Training Support Agency Requirements

Served as lead

technical writer for written proposal and presenter of oral defense

for renewal of U.S. Navy Training Support Agency Requirements contract

with Raytheon. This contract was awarded to Raytheon in 2001 and

is valued at approximately $15,000,000 from 2001-2006.

Cendant Corporation Project Falcon Web-Based Training Project

Served as technical writer for written proposal to the Cendant Corporation.

This contract was awarded to Raytheon in 2001 and is valued at $400,000.

A renewal of this contract for 2002 is currently in process and

is valued at approximately $300,000.

Raytheon Detailed Job Duties

Managed instructional design and development personnel in support

of high volume multimedia production totaling over 100 hours of

completed web-based training for the U.S. Navy.

Managed key production points such as content analysis, storyboard

development, customer reviews, internal quality engineering, programming,

beta testing, learning management system testing, and delivery.

Supervised development of web-based training for Cendant Corporation

and Century 21, including learning management system configuration

using Click2Learn s Ingenium.Successfully built a productive

personnel team with disparate personnel including degreed instructional

designers, former military officers with subject matter expertise,

and non-degreed individuals with extensive programming and software

experience.

Managed a Navy-mandated conversion of training software from legacy

computer-based authoring to HTML browser-based development, turning

the conversion around in just under 8 months.

Hired and trained numerous personnel for the positions of courseware

developer, task leads, and team leads. Created a personnel "incubator"

which trained and deployed personnel on my project, while simultaneously

building their skills for later transfer to other projects within

the company. Contributed to development of the Raytheon Pensacola

Multimedia Production Center in Pensacola.

Current knowledge of the progress of the federal Advanced Distributed

Learning (ADL) initiative, reusable learning object standards, and

international metadata standards, including the Sharable Content

Object Reference Model (SCORM) (www.adlnet.org).

Created extensive intranet-based HTML Development Style Guide for

current multimedia development, in use as a performance support

tool for development personnel.

Responsible for training development personnel on Raytheon automated

production process.

Personally designed over 30 hours of completed interactive multimedia

instruction, 1997-present.

Acted as

project liaison with U.S. Navy instructors, course managers, and

Curriculum Instructional Standards Officers (CISOs) in multiple

commands regarding Navy web-based training production. Act as project

liaison with Chief, Naval Education & Training (CNET) personnel

regarding implementation of Navy E-Learning courseware.

Researched and compiled trends in production quality management

and software quality engineering to improve internal production

efficiencies.

Automated production tracking, timekeeping, and labor metrics using

Microsoft Project and other tools to improve efficient use of labor

budgets.

Pensacola Junior College,

Created, implemented, and managed continuing education and medical

continuing education training at the medical branch campus of Pensacola

Junior College, the fifth-largest community college in Florida with

education and associate degree programs at the community college

level, including curriculum proposals and course validation.

support in freshmen-level courses. Three years experience working

on federally funded student training and support program at the

community college level. Accustomed to completing regular progress

Two years of progressive management experience as Director of nationally

franchised remedial and advanced learning center for children and

adults. Responsible for Center management, recruiting, and employee

training. Administered standardized written performance tests to

determine student placement within program. Validated results to

place students at appropriate level. Validated instructional materials

used in small group instruction. Advised students on remedial training

needs.

A paper presented to Utah State University Summer Instructional

Design Institute, Logan, Utah in August 1999 and the Interservice/Industry

Training, Simulation, and Education Conference (I/ITSEC), Orlando,

Florida, November 1999. This paper discussed the object-oriented

automated multimedia production process utilized by Raytheon to

produce web-based courses with reusable components.
