Position: Deputy Building Official for the City of Gillette, WY.

Overview: Promotion from position as Plans Examiner. Assigns, coordinates, and

participates in the daily operations of the Building Division, issues permits as needed,

performs complex inspection of buildings, responds to and resolves complaints, oversees

plans review, and assists field inspection staff with complex commercial / industrial

projects. Is a resource for plan examiner and building inspectors. Assists and trains field

inspection staff on complex commercial / industrial porjects.

Assists the Chief Building Official with implementing city and departmental policies and

procedures, acts as the Chief Building Official in his or her absence. Investigates and

resolves compliants and inquiries. Technical advisor and assistant to the Chief Building

Official on building related issues. Performs field inspections on the more complex code

enforcement assignments.

Position: Commercial and Residential Plans Examiner for the City of Gillette,

Gillette, WY

Overview: Reviews and approves construction plans of residential and

commercial buildings to insure compliance with all applicable codes and

ordinances in and for the City of Gillette. Facilitates all commercial site plan

meetings between design professionals, building owners, general contractors and

all other City of Gillette departments. Personally reviews site plans for required

corrections and resolutions to ensure a timely approval. Field inspections as

required and as requested by the Code Official. Assist clerical staff as needed in

the application process.

July 24, 1997 to June 30, 2005:

Position: Commercial Plans Examiner for Carroll County, Maryland

Promotion from position as Building Inspector

Overview: Reviews and approves construction plans of residential and

commercial buildings to insure compliance with Carroll County Building,

Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Energy, Maryland Handicap Codes and the

County Flood Insurance Program and manages the computer operation relevant to

plans reviews and building permits. Provides professional expertise to effectively

communicate with architects, engineers, and other design professionals on a daily

basis. Performs other duties such as that of the Bureau Chief and Deputy Code

Official in their absence.

October 1999 to June 2004:

Secondary Employment: Adjunct instructor for Carroll Community College.

I have developed and taught two new construction related non-credited

courses for C.C.C. and have written a text book for Commercial Building Code

compliance including compliance with title three of the American with

Disabilities Act. I m currently in the process of developing a third course. I have

ideas for several other courses for the college to consider and look forward to
