Seeking a full time position due to retirement of my current physician employers. I have been a home based medical transcriptionist for many years. I am seeking employment either in your office or can be home based. I am looking for a clerical/administrative position or medical transcriptionist or both. I am well versed in word and attended business college at The College of Hampton Roads. I have had medical terminology. I also have had a class in anatomy and physiology at Thomas Nelson.

Past positions:

11/79 to 6/84 Radiology Transcriptionist at Riverside Regional Medical Center - Transcribed all x-rays, MRIs and CTs for 8 radiologists. Was transcription supervisor the last 2 years in this department.

6/84-12/98 - Executive Secretary Riverside Regional Medical Center in the Cancer Treatment Center. I worked for 3 radiation oncologists and 2 radiation physicists plus the office manager. I did medical transcription, clerical supervisor, payroll, ordering supplies, etc. I left due to husbands death and having 2 small children at home.

6/98-9/00 Hampton Roads Transcription " Worked part time in the evenings at home for this company and when I quit Riverside was full time. Transcribed for all different practices used by this service. Left because company merged with a large transcription company in Virginia Beach. The company is no longer in existence. Ending pay: Paid by the word so cannot compute.

Current position: 9/00 to present - Medical transcriptionist for Drs. Leddy and Wilson, rheumatology and endocrinology. Practice merged with TPMG 4 years ago. I transcribe all office notes, letters, consultations, bone density reports, thyroid ultrasound reports and any other correspondence as noted. I am a home based transcriptionist for this practice. Looking for another job due to physicians retiring and office going electronic.
