General Dynamics Land Systems a Ft. Lewis, WA 2002 to 2012

Land Systems is a Division of General Dynamics a Leading Global Defense Contractor and the builders of Gulfstream Headquartered in Michigan supporting 16 Divisions with 88K plus employees worldwide.

Field Operations/Maintenance Manager (2002 to 2012)

Directed cross-functional teams in all operational areas for third-party logistics (3PL) provider encompassing warehouse (300K Sq. Ft.), yard, and transportation management (320 vehicles). Supplied third class 3PL services: warehouse management, on demand delivery, and customer training/development. Led a team of 98 employees to include 6 supervisors, prepared/administered annual budget, profit & loss, and coordinated staffing requirements, man hour requirements and scheduling with an impeccable safety record. Functioned as hiring manager, performing needs assessments, reviewing resumes, and facilitating interview process. Orchestrated weekly inventories ($20M in stock) and cycle counts (10K SKU) to ensure proper accountability processes were maintained. Tracked shipping progress to confirm deliveries were completed on time (3000 orders per week). Evaluated staff, enhanced performance through continues training with use of a balanced score card to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and key success identifiers (KSIs) and project management.

Fleet Management and Sustainment: Originally hired as Technician to support Stryker Program based on previous military experience and logistics training. After 2 years I applied for and was promoted to the position of Field Fleet Manager responsible and coordinated the fielding and sustainment of 300+ vehicles in Fairbanks, Alaska, Fort Lewis, Washington and during OIF and OEF operations in Iraq.
