OBJECTIVE

To obtain a position with a Mental Health Corporation to express my skills and interest in the Mental Health Industry. I am a graduate of the University of South Florida with a BA in Psychology.

I currently exercise my professional experience and knowledge in the worker`s compensation insurance and service industry. I practice strong interpersonal skills on a daily basis. My clients include injured workers' who have been devastated by their injury and have been forced to alter their lifestyle. Many of them are permanently disabled and in return, are dealing with many issues related to psychological needs. Many of them suffer from depression and insecurity about their future. I strive to help them feel at ease by letting them know that our organization is there to help meet their medical needs. In return, they can rest assured that part of their lives will be considered. My caseload consists of approximately 50-60 injured workers.

My immediate future goal is pursuing a MA in Mental Health Counseling from the University of South Florida. I am currently making preparations to begin the program by Fall of 2014. My end goal is to become a Licensed Mental Health Professional.

EXPERIENCE

2000 - Present PMSI (Pharmacy Management Services Inc.) Tampa, FL

- Home Health Coordinator ( July 2009 - Present)

I am responsible for taking new home health case referrals from hospital discharge planners, insurance adjusters and Nurse Case Managers to ensure placement of home care services for Injured Worker and PIP claimants.

I communicate with corporate, national, contracted home health providers within PMSI`s network. In addition, I also communicate with providers outside of PMSI`s network to secure staffing of home healthcare services, in the event that the network cannot commit to service due to challenging demographics and insufficient/unavailable staffing. Home Health Services provided by PMSI include: Skilled Nursing for wound care and IV, Physical and Occupational Therapy, Home Health Aid services and Medical Social Workers.

I work very closely with insurance adjusters, hospital discharge planners and Nurse Case Managers to discuss plans of home health care. I evaluate hospital discharge orders and communicate requests to the home health agencies for patient`s care. I speak directly to these agencies and consult with the RN, P/T - O/T, MSW. I am responsible for monitoring the patient`s care for the duration of services, and I am the one point of contact for the adjusters/nurse case managers. I provide them with all home health agency care/progress notes, current Dr. prescriptions, and patient feedback for the duration of the home care needs. I maintain the chart until the agency discharges the patient.

Billing Representative/claims status representative/Authorizations (April 2000 - July 2009)

Process invoices from vendors. (research, bill revenue, issue payments to vendors for durable medical equipment. )

Speak with adjusters to obtain current claim/authorization status.

Communicates with physicians` office to obtain current treatment status pertaining to worker`s compensation claims.

Work with peers to resolve billing issues/account payable issues.

Maintain account billing to ensure correct billing dates and pricing. (verification of information such as pricing and dates of service)

Work closely with contracted providers to bring outstanding balances current and accurate.

Work on a timely basis to ensure current billing at month end.

Uses critical thinking skills/problem solving skills.

Communicates with worker`s compensation patients to obtain current status of their medical equipment use and current doctor visit information/status.
