Designed and implemented an automated build system for VA Linux Servers which took only 8 minutes to build an entire system. Used perl to design tools for other departments to use in troubleshooting. Came up with cost effective ways to use Linux to create our own monitoring tools. Used Mercury Interactive tools to generate scripts for doing transaction level monitoring of websites. Designed a MySQL database for use with a website running PHP and using CGI. Automated several tasks that were originally manual data entry. Pushed Linux as the OpenSource way to do things correctly and affordably. Designed a replacement for 2 of our main tools used for monitoring based on an opensource program called Curl.
