Professional Overview

I am interested in continuing working in the education field, but in a different position.

My objective is to work in a counseling/adviser, (but not limited to) position to help students follow a path of education after high school that will result in a fulfilling career that they will enjoy and be able to sustain a family comfortably.

Summary of Skills

20 years of teaching various sciences on a secondary level, including an Asst. Professor position at Dowling College, and a teaching assistant at SUNY-Stony Brook.

This level of teaching science included many laboratory investigations.

Searching the trail of DNA of US Drosophila melanogaster, back to their origin. This was researched while a Ph.D. student at SUNY-Stony Brook.

Science Teacher, secondary public schools

I worked in "at risk" school districts in low socioeconomic school districts with excellent results. A good relationship was developed with the students in order for them to trust me and therefore wanting to learn. This resulted in much higher stats than the schools had ever seen in Biology and Chemistry NYS Regents exams.

Dowling College Oakland, NY

Asst. Professor in Biology

I was teaching Biology at a small 4 year college. Leaving was only to get my Ph.D. in order to become a full professor.
