To Whom It May Concern:
It is with great pleasure that I am writing this letter of reference for Domonic Medley. For the
past six years I have been an adjunct nursing faculty member for the Maricopa Community
College District and for the past four years a clinical educator at Banner Good Samaritan
Medical Center (both in Phoenix, Arizona). I hold a master’s degree in nursing education from
Arizona State University and my clinical background is in critical care. I hope my perspective
will be helpful to you as you evaluate this exceptional candidate.
My first contact with Mr. Medley was last July when he was completing his obstetrics rotation at
Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center through Chamberlain College. In speaking with Mr.
Medley, and observing his interactions with patients and nursing staff, I was impressed with his
involvement in the profession of nursing, pleasant bedside manner, and collaborative approach to
patient care. I encouraged him to apply for the nurse extern program at Good Samaritan Medical
Center. Out of 200+ applicants and only 10 available positions, he was chosen for the program in
January of 2012.
Since then, I have learned more about Mr. Medley’s accomplishments. As president of the
Student Government Association, he organized several events through Chamberlain College
including Hydration for the Homeless, a clothing drive for the Arizona State Psychiatric
Hospital, and a toy drive for Phoenix Children’s Hospital. He also appeared in the Arizona
Republic by writing about what the American Nurses Association’s theme for nursing week
meant to him. As a nurse extern in the trauma ICU, he has been described as an “excellent team
member” and progressed exceptionally quickly in his ability to perform nursing skills, prioritize
care, and manage patient assignments.
I would not hesitate to recommend Mr. Medley for any position he applies for. I know that he
will be an asset to the healthcare area in which he chooses to practice.
Sincerely,
Domonic Medley, BSN, RN 2861 Herbert Way Sacramento California 95821
