Professional Experience: I have 27 years experience in software development, starting as a Programmer on the

IBM System/38 and progressing through Programmer Analyst and Software Developer positions. This includes

a team environment in large corporations and independent work in small companies. PC experience began in

1991 using the Clarion language, transitioning to that environment full-time in 1995.

The sites I have worked since January 2000 have been almost exclusively using MSSQL. There was one site

using both SQLAnywhere and MSSQL.

All About Staffing provides staffing for hospitals and clinics. This is a contract position through the end of

January 2011. I primarily do bug fixes and complete projects started by the staff, freeing their time for new

development.

RealTime Services provides staffing and payroll services in the nursing market.

• Developed the Workers Comp system.

• Maintained and extended existing applications.

Hoveround Corporation, Sarasota Florida 2002 – 2008

Clarion

Hoveround produces power wheelchairs. All software is developed in-house in Clarion.

• Automated the pickup process, reducing a 45 minute manual process to 1.5 minutes.

• Maintained and extended legacy systems using the Btrieve file system.

• Developed new applications using Sybase SQL ASE as the database system.

• Developed the routines to import information from the older systems into the newer systems.

• Developed a variety of applications, including the warehousing system and portions of the billing

system.

• Worked independently and in small teams.

XLC Services, Cincinnati Ohio 1999 – 2002

Clarion

XLC Services provides HR services and employee screening to clients nationally.

This position was a long term contract, working remotely to convert existing applications to an MS-SQL

backend.

Vanguard Management Services, Chattanooga TN 1997 – 1999

Clarion

Vanguard Management Services manages the employee benefits packages for several large national trucking

firms.

As sole programmer rewrote all existing Clarion DOS applications in Clarion for Windows. These applications

tracked employee eligibility, payroll deductions, and coverage history.

Medware, New Smyrna Beach FL 1995 – 1997

Clarion

Medware markets a Practice Management application for small to medium sized medical practices.

• Assisted with development of the primary application.

• Developed custom extensions to the primary application as requested by clients. These extensions

adapted the application to meet specific needs.

• Developed a Clinical Notes application, including modules to track prescriptions, allergies, lab work,

and other information documenting a patient visit.

Contract Positions 1993 – 1995

AS/400

Worked a variety of contracts including FiServe Banking in Orlando, ABB\CEAG warehousing in Sanford, and

CTX transportation in Jacksonville. These applications were developed in RPG III.

RR Donnelly & Sons, South Daytona FL 1992 – 1993

AS/400

Was responsible for all AS/400 programming for a magazine printing plant. Assisted Customer Service with

transfer of information to PCs.

ITT Transportation Distribution Service, Palm Coast FL 1987 – 1992

AS/400 and System/38

ITT-TDS is the freight payment service for ITT Corporation.

• Developed freight payment and reporting applications.

• Developed applications in Clarion that extracted information from the primary database. These

applications were used by the Transportation VP in New York to provide a quick method of reviewing

freight bills and payments.
