 Specialist surrounding the management reporting process developed in response to the requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley. Duties included review of the balance sheet substantiations provided by business line areas, ensuring proper ownership structure for balance sheet accounts, MIS reporting to senior management of outstanding issues, and communication with the central Management Reporting Group.

 Tested, rolled out and trained business line account owners on application used to substantiate and certify general ledger balances on a monthly basis.

 Developed applications to identify, on a daily basis, all open cash and security breaks outstanding and ensured that all cash obligations are reported and journalized timely and accurately in compliance with FRB 2900 reporting rules.

 Spearheaded the global administration and rollout of the SharePoint Balance Sheet Substantiation Repository platform used to upload all reconciliation documentation supporting balances being substantiated and certified each month by primary account owners.

 Created database that linked sub ledger account data, general ledger account data, and SSR reconciliation account data to facilitate the identification and resolution of open exceptions, reconciliation differences and ownership disputes.

 Reviewed month-end cash and inter-company reconciliations prepared by operations. Created reconciliations to tie bank statement balances (nostro) to the general ledger using an adjusted value date approach.

 Managed the post-implementation processes developed from the conversion to the new SAP general ledger system. This included the daily sub-ledger to G/L reconciliation, the review and correction of critical suspense account and cost center errors, and the review and correction of the error queue.

 Led a project team that reviewed the sub-ledger to ledger mapping of accounts in order to ensure proper sub-account mapping to the general ledger. For the project, an analysis was performed on each account and accounts were remapped to their proper financial statement elements. Detailed account descriptions were prepared.

 Directly involved with business line projects geared toward business redesign and cost reduction opportunities including outsourcing operations to Bangalore and instituting technological solutions to streamline work.

 Managed a Proof and Control unit of 11 individuals responsible for the daily reconciliation of balance sheet and income statement accounts. Functions also included the reclassification of overdraft positions, processing of foreign office expenses, fund transfers, stop payments and issuing checks to customers.

 Developed an automated account reconciliation process that reconciled over 1,000 general ledger accounts on a daily basis, including check processing, money transfer and demand deposit related activity. Increased productivity and reduced headcount, saving $40K per year.

 Generated monthly, quarterly and semi-annual MIS reports used for regulatory reporting by extracting data directly from mainframe reports using Monarch software that resulted in increased productivity.

 Monitored internal Corporate Accounting Practices through monthly reviews of Work-in-Process accounts and aged balances to ensure proper compliance.
