Work XTO Energy May 2009 – August 2009
Experience Field Engineering Intern
As a field engineer my primary job was to monitor drilling, completion, and
production of 50 new gas wells in the Woodford shale. During drilling, I observed
drilling of long horizontal wells with multiple casing setting depths. During
completions, I assisted engineers during multiple stage hydraulic fracturing and plug
& perforation operations. I participated in the development and progress of well logs.
During production, I helped maintain my wells were flowing by evaluating pressures
and flow rates to assure these wells were brought back online without any lost
production, saving $2500 per well per day. Set up 3 tank battery hookups ahead of
schedule and under budget with a team of roustabouts saving $1600 per day for a
roustabout crew and $1000 per day that I worked for not needing the backhoe that day.
Also, I performed maintenance work on compressors, preventing downtime and any
lost profit. I was given the chance to work side by side with roustabouts, pumpers,
drillers, engineers, and foremen.
Baker Hughes February 2012 – September 2012
Reservoir Navigation Engineer
As a part of the RNS team I steer the drill bit while drilling, keeping us in the payzone.
I work with the geologist, MWD, and the directional driller to ensure efficiency. I use
Baker Hughes’ software and my knowledge to accomplish this goal in an effective
manner. My services can make or break the production of well, I could potential help a
company double their production on a million dollar investment.
