PROJECT MANAGER
DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE, 2000-December 2009
A national combat agency which provides timely and accurate geospatial
intelligence to the Intelligence Community and military warfighters.
Supervised the collection and analysis of classified/unclassified satellite
imagery and providing geospatial data such as map products, map data, LIDAR
data, full-motion video analysis and imagery intelligence analysis to high
level United States Government policy makers. In addition, I served as the
Program Manager within the Office of Targeting and Transnational Issues
whereby I supervised a team of analyst who reviewed tunneling, boring, and
construction activity within countries deemed adversaries of the United
States.
ENGINEERING GEOLOGIST/PROJECT MANAGER
TSI ENGINEERING, St. Louis, Missouri July 2000 - September 2000
Served as a Project Manager and supervised a geotechnical soil/rock coring
crew, collected field soil samples, conducted soil bearing capacity tests,
shear strength tests, dynamic cone penetrometer tests and Shelby tube
sampling. In addition a substantial amount of my work consisted of rock
coring, rock description and rock cross-sectioning for a large fifty foot
diameter Metropolitan Sewer District tunneling operation.
ENGINEERING GEOLOGIST
ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, 1994 - 2000
Served as a Project Manager and supervisor of a soil/rock/pavement coring
crew during the winter months. My position as a geologist was two-fold, not
only supervising the drilling crews in the winter months, but also writing
detailed geotechnical recommendations for pavement designs, slope
stability, dewatering schemes and soil erosion mitigation systems. During
the construction seasons, I would supervise the geotechnical construction
on all projects within District #2, which composes 13 counties in
Northwestern Illinois.
> Developed a testing program for verification of lime modified soil
remediation treatment on a 20 mile long, multi-million dollar dual
highway improvement.
> Provided on-site support to DOT resident engineers for at least 30
ongoing construction projects.
> Had mutual respect of contractors and DOT resident engineers during my
visits which provided recommendations that either added cost to the
projects or enforced Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge
Construction.
> Enlisted team building skills by demonstrating as the supervisor that I
was willing to get just as dirty as the rest of the crew during
preliminary geotechnical engineering surveys.
INDEPENDENT GEOLOGIST
C.E. BILLINGSLEY DRILLING COMPANY, INC, 1993 - 1994
Well sitting, monitoring of drilling of exploratory wells in Illinois
Basin structures.
Supervised mud logging program. Carried out stratigraphic and
overpressure interpretation. Supervised sampling program (cutting samples,
gas and liquid samples). Described cutting samples and prepared
lithological strip log (Master Log) and sample description report.
Supervised geological segments of coring operations - selection, recovery
and description. Supervised geological segments of wire-line logging
operations. Carried out preliminary electrolog interpretation and
correlation. Prepared cross- sections and subsurface maps.
Supervised geological segments of Leak Off Test, casing seating. Provided
geological inputs to personnel of other disciplines (such as drilling and
chemistry) on the rig for successful and safe completion of drilling
operation.
Prepared Daily Geological Reports (geological morning reports) and Weekly
Geological Reports. Liaison with geological, evaluation and drilling
personnel on the rig and the base office. Coordinated data distribution
from rig to base office. Prepared final well history reports to company's
specifications.
