To the present Chief/Lead Technologist in Blood Bank,
Urinalysis and Esoteric Testing
Responsibilities include:
non-supervisory management of all aspects of the Blood Bank and
Urinalysis, including
esoteric testing to be sent out. I perform and/or review daily test
results,
daily reagent QC, instrument
parallel testing, manage reagent and blood supplies, SOP
writing. I am responsible
for training all current and new staff medical technologists and
phlebotomists.
I perform and/or review all
antibody workups and any specialized testing needed. I research
and compile statistical data
for the transfusion committee, executive staff and quality
management (blood bank.) I
am responsible for compliance/certification for FDA, AABB and
CAP. I also work in the
main lab performing duties in Chemistry, Urinalysis, Hematology,
Coagulation, molecular
testing for MRSA, reading and reporting results for DTM's and
HP- Fast. I also process
and verify the correctness of specimens. I prepare reagents and
primary reference materials.
Tours of duty include: 8:00am to 4:30pm full time dayshift
and fill in as needed for
off shift coverage when needed. I work rotating holidays and
weekends (2nd shift). I
also do phlebotomy as needed.
Analyzer experience: LH 750
AND 500, STA and Satellite (coagulation), LXi and Pro
ProVue and Iq200, AX-4280
(Iris). Genexpert for MRSA, Triage and Tosoh (a1c)
