Related Projects

Analog to Digital Converter: Fall 2010

Designed a 5-bit successive-approximation register (SAR) A/D converter in BiCMOS 0.18um technology.

AM Receiver End: Spring 2011

Designed an AM receiver in BiCMOS 0.18um technology with a low noise amplifier (LNA), a voltage control

oscillator (VCO), and a mixer.

The VCO achieved a tuning range> 500MHz.

Achieved overall power < 25mW, conversion gain >35dB, NF <10dB, and 1dB compression point > -15dBm.

1-Watt Power Amplifier at 10 GHz Fall 2011- Spring2012

Design of a 1-watt power amplifier ( PA ) with BiCMOS 0.13 technology at 10GHz.

The PA is driven by 0.1mW and achieved an output>1W. Total power consumption is <4.1W

FM Receiver: Fall 2011

Built a FM Receiver on a printed circuit board ( PCB ) using Altium.

Designed the transmission lines for good impedance matching and was able to hear the audio output from 12

feet away with an antenna.

Phase Lock Loop: Fall 2011

Built a RF synthesizer with a phase detector, a charge pump, a 2nd order filter, a quadrature VCO, a

divided-by-4 divider, and a buffer to force lock the within 400ns, locking range of +/-200MHz, control voltage

carrier ripple< 10mv, phase margin>40, gain margin> 10 dB, and output power >10dBm.
