leader in f luid separations and filtration products.
Jan C. Cornelius, P.E.
8/2006 –2/2012 Di rector of Technology, Systems Development
Created a new group in Research and Development to
develop and standardize New Product Development
(NPD) for all Lines of Business within Pall Industrial
D ivision, including Municipal Water, Petrochemical,
Power Generation, and General Industrial. A particular
focus was placed on water filtration systems, including
u ltrafilt ration/microfiltration, crossflow filtration, and
reverse osmosis. Worked closely with customers, LOB
leaders, and senior R&D and Operations management to
create new systems products and t ransfer to
manufacturing. Grew a cross-functional engineering
team from 5 to 18 direct reports, including a remote
g roup, to develop these products. Guided multiple
simultaneous projects through Pall’s Stage Gate
development process. Managed the R&D Portfolio for the
Water Filtration Line of Business. Mentored
i nexperienced staff in new engineering disciplines.
Accomplishments of this group included the development
of:
• New design for the f lagship water microfiltration
system that will reduce costs and i ncrease
p rofits by at least $3 M illion per year for
t he next 5-10 years
• New design for mid-market water filtration
systems in order to increase market share in the
3-10 Million Gallons per Day (MGD) range by
standardizing designs, r educing engineering
a nd Field Service labor by 30%, or 500
hours per system, and cutting installation
t ime and costs by up to 50%, or up to
$100,000 per system
• Reduced the mean NPD project duration from
over 400 days to 250 days
• Large (10-30 MGD) systems for offshore
p latforms to microfilter seawater for injection
• Filtration systems designs for condensate
polishing in power plants that c ut costs by 30%
( $45,00) compared to the previous design

8/1999 – 8/2006 Manager (1999 – 2003) / Vice P resident (2003 –
2006), Water Systems Engineering.
Supervised engineers and other staff in the design and
p roduction of water microfiltration systems.
• Managed a rapidly growing group that increased
shipments of large capital projects from $250K
t o $30M yearly shipments in six years
• Grew global markets for Pall’s water filtration
business
• Developed Pall’s standard designs for large and
packaged systems
