Tilak has over 23 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering: Oil and

Gas projects, teaching, research and design.

He gained experience in materials handling equipment/systems, rotating

equipment, static equipment and overhead cranes used in the oil sands

industry. In addition to his technical knowledge he gained experience in

project activities through his role as mechanical lead. He worked with the

Since October 2014 work as a member of the AMEC/IOL Site Engineering Team

in Fort McMurray and provide solutions to RFIs received from contractors &

commissioning team during construction and commissioning stages of the

project.

Fine Fluid Tailings- Centrifuge Full Scale Plant Project (FFT-CFSP)

Syncrude Canada Ltd., Alberta, Canada, 2012 - 2014

Lead Mechanical Engineer

Led a team of 15 that consisted of engineers and a designer. Supervised day-

to-day technical work of the discipline engineers and the designer.

Coordinated engineering work with other disciplines. Reviewed and approved

engineering drawings, design documents and Construction Work Packages.

Conducted annual performance reviews of the mechanical team members.

Mechanical Engineer

Responsible for Cake Transportation Conveyors, Gypsum Loading, Crushing and

Conveying System, Vibrating Screens, Chutes & Pump Boxes that are used in

the Tailing Management Project. Lead responsibilities included attending

project meetings (internal and with the client), checking of deliverables,

attending HAZOP and Model reviews, working on progress reports, vendor

meetings, vendor document review, interacting with other disciplines.

AMR - Aurora Mine Relocation Project

Syncrude Canada Ltd., Alberta, Canada, 2011 - 2012

Lead Mechanical Engineer

Responsible for relocation of the Aurora Trains 2 & 3 (Mechanical

Equipment) to Fort Hills Site. Led a team of 8 that consisted of engineers

and designers. Trains 2 & 3 include 2 Crushing Plants, 4 Conveyors with

Conveyor Drive Stations, 2 Surge Bins and 2 Slurry Preparation Towers. This

equipment (except for the conveyors) was to be moved using SPMT's (Self

Propelled Modular Transporters). Lead responsibilities included attending

project meetings (internal and with the client), checking of deliverables,

attending HAZOP reviews, working on progress reports, man hour planning,

interacting with other disciplines. Involved in the design and procurement

of a new Process Water Pump House and Process Water Pumps. The project was

finished on schedule and under budget.

AMR - Aurora Mine Relocation Project

Package Engineer

Reviewed COG calculations of conveyor drive stations and mechanical

equipment lists. Reviewed data sheets of HT pumps, HVAC equipment and Gland

water pumps. Responsible for the design of the EDP pumps and pump houses.

Prepared RFI's for EDP Pumps Prepared Data sheets for Caustic tanks.

MFT - Mature Fine Tailings Project

Syncrude Canada Ltd., Alberta, Canada, 2009 - 2010

Lead Mechanical Engineer

Responsible for the MFT (Mature Fine Tailings) Cake Transportation Study at

FEED stage. Studied and evaluated options to transport the MFT cake from

the centrifuges to the disposal area.

AEPR - Aurora East Pillar Relocation Project

Syncrude Canada Ltd., Alberta, Canada, 2008 - 2010

Lead Mechanical Engineer at the detail engineering/execution stage

Responsible for the relocation of the Surge Feed Conveyor and the Conveyor

Drive Station. Led a team of 6 that included engineers and designers. The

conveyor head end was replaced by a new head end. Prepared RFQ's for new

mechanical equipment. Prepared equipment lists, data sheets, interacted

with clients and all other disciplines and attended at regular project

meetings.

NFSP - Near Face Slurry Preparation Project

Syncrude Canada Ltd., Alberta, Canada, 2007 - 2008

Lead Mechanical Engineer

Responsible for preliminary design of the Slurry Preparation Platform which

consists of a Surge Bin, Apron Feeder, Slurry Preparation Tower and 1st

Stage Hydrotransport Pumps. Led a team of 4 that included engineers and

designers. This work also included the preparation of calculations,

specifications, RFI's and equipment selection. Interacted with client and

all other disciplines and attended at regular project meetings.

Participated in drawing review, risk assessment and HAZOP meetings.

Albian Sands Expansion 1 Project

Package Engineer

Responsible for sizing, selection & detailing of Utility Pumps, Bridge

Cranes, Monorail Cranes & Barge Pumps used in the Extraction and the

Tailings Area. Prepared equipment data sheets, specifications, RFP's and

Purchase Order packages. Performed technical bid evaluation and made

recommendations for purchase. Reviewed vendor documents, shop drawings and

equipment specifications.

Tailings Siphon Vacuum Skid, Tailings Siphon Priming Pump, Dyke Run Off

Pond Pumping System in the extraction area. Attended vendor clarification

meetings. Worked on the design and selection of equipment for a Caustic

Addition System for the Slurry Preparation Tower.
