Tilak has over 23 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering: Oil and
Gas projects, teaching, research and design.
He gained experience in materials handling equipment/systems, rotating
equipment, static equipment and overhead cranes used in the oil sands
industry. In addition to his technical knowledge he gained experience in
project activities through his role as mechanical lead. He worked with the

Mechanical Engineer
Responsible for Cake Transportation Conveyors, Gypsum Loading, Crushing and
Conveying System, Vibrating Screens, Chutes & Pump Boxes that are used in
the Tailing Management Project. Lead responsibilities included attending
project meetings (internal and with the client), checking of deliverables,
attending HAZOP and Model reviews, working on progress reports, vendor
meetings, vendor document review, interacting with other disciplines.
AMR - Aurora Mine Relocation Project

Lead Mechanical Engineer
Responsible for relocation of the Aurora Trains 2 & 3 (Mechanical
Equipment) to Fort Hills Site. Led a team of 8 that consisted of engineers
and designers. Trains 2 & 3 include 2 Crushing Plants, 4 Conveyors with
Conveyor Drive Stations, 2 Surge Bins and 2 Slurry Preparation Towers. This
equipment (except for the conveyors) was to be moved using SPMT's (Self
Propelled Modular Transporters). Lead responsibilities included attending
project meetings (internal and with the client), checking of deliverables,
attending HAZOP reviews, working on progress reports, man hour planning,
interacting with other disciplines. Involved in the design and procurement
of a new Process Water Pump House and Process Water Pumps. The project was
finished on schedule and under budget.

MFT - Mature Fine Tailings Project

AEPR - Aurora East Pillar Relocation Project

Lead Mechanical Engineer at the detail engineering/execution stage
Responsible for the relocation of the Surge Feed Conveyor and the Conveyor
Drive Station. Led a team of 6 that included engineers and designers. The
conveyor head end was replaced by a new head end. Prepared RFQ's for new
mechanical equipment. Prepared equipment lists, data sheets, interacted
with clients and all other disciplines and attended at regular project
meetings.
NFSP - Near Face Slurry Preparation Project

Responsible for preliminary design of the Slurry Preparation Platform which
consists of a Surge Bin, Apron Feeder, Slurry Preparation Tower and 1st
Stage Hydrotransport Pumps. Led a team of 4 that included engineers and
designers. This work also included the preparation of calculations,
specifications, RFI's and equipment selection. Interacted with client and
all other disciplines and attended at regular project meetings.
