PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Bayer Corporation
Laboratory Analyst – Baytown, TX January 2000 – January 2012
Analyze raw materials, process samples, and finished goods for Polyurethane (Polymers) units of the plant. Instruments
used include Gas Chromatography, High Performance Liquid Chromatography, Atomic Absorption Spectrometer, UV VIS
Spectrophotometer, Infra Red Spectroscopy, Total Organic Carbon Analyzer, Auto Titrators, Densitometers, Viscometers,
Thermo Gravimetric Analyzer, and Color Instruments. Entered all results obtained in LIMS systems, which passed it on the
respective units, and generated COA via SAP. Other duties included calibration and validations of instruments, approving
raw materials, and finished goods.
Bayer Corporation
Research Analyst – Baytown, TX May 1998 – December 1999
Analyzed wastewater for ECD unit from different point sources in a denitrification pilot plant. This process reduced
Nitrates, Ammonia, Total Organic Carbon, and Metals concentrations. Instrumentation used included Ion Chromatography,
Ammonia Distillation Apparatus, Total Organic Carbon analyzer, and Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer. Analyzed
Total and Volatile Suspended Solids of wastewater that outfalls from each point source of the entire plant. Analyzed the
toxicity of wastewater discharged from each unit using a Respirometer that measured the amount of oxygen consumed by the
toxicant’s presence. Recorded all obtained data results in a Microsoft excel spreadsheet, and wrote a technical monthly report
in a Microsoft word format.
Alcon Laboratories
Quality Assurance Analyst – Houston, TX August 1997 – May 1998
Analyzed returned samples to determine the cause of the defect, and used EasyTrak, a complaint handling software to track
different types of complaints. Analyzed aging samples to validate their expiration dates. Recorded all data obtain from the
entire various test and complied a data base using a Microsoft excel spreadsheet, and shared it with the engineering and
design group.
Peak Analytical Inc
Laboratory Analyst – Houston, TX April 1997 – August 1997
Analyzed samples for anions, cations species using Ion Chromatography, and also for organic functional groups using High
Performance Liquid Chromatography. Recorded all data obtained and compiled a certificate of analysis using a Microsoft
excel spreadsheet.
Core Laboratories
Laboratory Analyst – Houston, TX January 1997 – April 1997
Analyzed environmental samples for metals with Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Spectrometry, and Atomic
Absorption Cold Vapor, using EPA methods. Prepared samples using both toxic characteristic and synthetic precipitation
leaching procedure.

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory
Research Intern – Livermore, California June 1995 August 1996
Observed chemical contaminant transport in porous media via 3D Fluorescent Microscopic Imaging technique. Observed
and digitally photographed different types of contaminant degrading bacteria using an Epi Fluorescent microscope. Prepared
a Microsoft excel spreadsheet database containing the characteristics of different types of contaminant degrading bacteria
using Telnet online library index, and Web Search Engines.
Oak Ridge National Laboratory
Research Intern – Oak Ridge, Tennessee June 1993 August 1994
Used a Synchronous Luminescence Fluorescence Spectrophotometer to determine the detection level limits of organic
contaminants. Prepared a Microsoft excel spreadsheet database on the toxicity of each contaminant detected using Scientific
Technology Network Software.
