* Legacy Application Archiving and Retirement - following the Ashland SAP

implementation, I was responsible for all stages of the project to retire

Dublin-based legacy applications. Completion of the project resulted in

operational savings from reclamation of numerous resources (servers,

mainframe capacity, dasd, AS/400 elimination, etc Activities and

deliverables included:

. Analyzed legacy applications in regards to data retention policies

. Wrote requirements documents and obtained user signoff

. Designed Oracle schemas and table structures, wrote specifications for

use by off-shore developers

. Developed application-specific extraction programs to retrieve and

format data for loading to archives

. Developed and executed verification metrics and test plans

. Designed and wrote Cognos report specifications for off-shore

development

. Shepherded user groups through acceptance testing, obtaining user sign-

off

. Removed legacy application software and data

process to convert 33,000 historical drum label print files (driver-

encoded text files) to electronic images (JPEGs), utilizing vintage

Printronix and Weber/Pentax hardware. This project provided the client's

Legal Department the ability to generate 100% accurate replicas of

historical drum labels, to aid in the quick resolution of potentially

costly litigation.
