ACADEMIC PROJECT:

> DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF SAVONIUS WIND TURBINE

Description: Savonius Wind Turbine is a vertical axis wind turbine

whose efficiency depends mostly upon the overlap ratio of the blades.

Hence our project aimed at finding out an optimum overlap ratio

maintaining length to diameter ratio of blades constant. We modeled a

Savonius Wind turbine, Wind Tunnel, anemometer and performed an

experiment. Data analysis was done on varying wind speeds and Overlap

ratio of the blades.

Objective of the project: Find Optimum Overlap ratio for the blades of

the rotor

Role: Fabrication of the Wind Tunnel, Rotor Installation into the Wind

tunnel

Responsibilities held:

> Pursued requirement analysis in a phase manner

> Performed Literature Survey

> Designed a Prototype

> Prepared Documentation of the project for submission in the end

IN-PLANT TRAINING:

At Milk Products Factory, A.P.D.D.C.F.ltd. Lalapet, Hyderabad for 7

days. This has expanded my knowledge on mass production, processing of
