Job Responsibilities Included:

Provide production schedule support for batch jobs on MVS mainframe host and

UNIX. Also provide production support to troubleshoot failed jobs, correct and restart.

Install new jobs and update existing JCL and SQL. Carry pager on a rotational basis to

provide 24 x 7 support as required.

Act as IBM RepliData support analyst. Provide 24 X 7 support to keep RepliData

operating error free and maintain synch between distributed DB2 tables in remote

tablespaces. Create new RepliData models, install and test as new DB2 tables are added

or existing DB2 tables altered.

Create requirements definition, internal and external designs and implementation

plans for the new IBM Global billing system requirements. Provide estimated

man hours required for each of the aforementioned development phases.

Translate design specifications for simple to complex programs into efficient,

supportable code.

Provide ongoing support for all existing programs (production support).

Modify existing code, JCL, databases to resolve production problems or

provide customized solutions to customer request.

Provide ad hoc billing data to financial management using data retrieval utilities,

or creating new programs when necessary.

Prepare test cases and test data for simple to complex programs.

Unit, integration, and system test all new code and provide test results for user

approval.

Provide scheduling input and support to system operations.

Effectively utilize QMF, DFSORT, ICETOOL, FileAid and other similar utilities.

Assist financial management in developing pricing models to study revenue impact

of price, volume, and discount changes.

Major Accomplishments Include:

Designed, coded, and implemented changes to convert all the existing IBM Global

Network accounting programs to interface with the new Global Billing Platform.

Provide ongoing support of the IBM Global Network Business Rules Management

(BRM) system. This includes implementing solutions to new requirements as well

as normal production support activities.

Designed, coded (using Microfocus COBOL, CICS, and DB2), tested and implemented

all the new programs needed to support the discount and invoice adjustment functions

for the new IBM Global Billing System (GBS) of the IBM Global Network.

Partitioned large IMS database into multiple smaller databases to resolve

VSAM physical DASD limit. Project also required major changes to the

logic of the programs which update and read these databases.

Designed, developed and help implement project to convert production databases

from IMS to DB2.

Developed application programs required to support IBM/Advantis fixed price

offerings (Enterprise Network Solutions and Lease Line Services).

Develop and support programs which provide custom billing solutions to

to implement IBM/Advantis special bid contracts. These programs range from

simple to extremely complex
