In working for the 2010 Census Bureau project, I learned a great amount of skills to

communicate professionally with people, ranging from easy-going calls, to the more difficult,

aggressive calls. Dealing with the people who were less than courteous made me gain the

respect, patience and desire to better the lives of the people around me. Our daily tasks consisted

of being on a software program with a headset on while taking numerous calls a day, mainly

inbound. We were given a script that we had to read verbatim and taught to use soft skills to

overcome refusals. The tasks gave me the confidence to be more upbeat, hard-working, and

outspoken.
