Professional Summary

Recently graduated having completed a Masters Degree (MSc) in Advanced

Mechanical Engineering from Sheffield Hallam University, United Kingdom.

Before this, I have had 4 years and 8 months of professional work

experience as a 'Mechanical Design Engineer' and having gained expertise in

New Product Design, Legacy conversions of CAD data, Part Modeling,

Detailing using Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) techniques,

Sheet Metals, Assemblies, Value Engineering, Execution of tasks using

Reverse Engineering methodologies, Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) and

also in certain Manufacturing methods.

Roles & Responsibilities:

. Performed Legacy Conversions of CAD data (from 2D drawings to 3D CAD data

which included part modelling and detailing of parts and assemblies for

(i) Medical Devices namely Anaesthesia tray components & assemblies, (ii)

Semiconductor wafer producing machine components and assemblies (iii)

Liquid Flow Controllers and (iv) Printing Machines namely parts and

assemblies associated with the toner powder dispensing system of those

machines).

. Generated Conceptual designs for Sheet Metal and Plastic parts for

improving the existing design of the base stand of a Photocopying

machine.

. Assigning, Creating & Changing New and Existing Part and Assembly numbers

(Engineering Change Orders - ECO/ECN processes) using Machone (a PLM

based software).

. As a 'Manufacturing support' got prototype parts done for a telephone

router project (the processes included sheet metal fabrication, plating

and finishing operations for the router enclosures) by travelling to

vendor sites and in making sure parts were done on time. Performed review

with the team to get feedbacks for the necessary changes/redesign to be

made in the prototypes in consultation with vendors. Also prepared

Inspection reports for those parts after physical and dimensional checks

(Quality Control).

. Ordered and Procured plastic parts, components, devices & hardwares

Roles & Responsibilities:

. Modeled and Detailed (i) Cooling and After treatment assemblies and parts

that are used in the emission systems of Caterpillar engines and that of

(ii) Medium Wheel Loaders (Bucket Assemblies used in Caterpillar Machines

for Construction & Mining purposes).

. Created detailed drawings of Bucket assemblies and their individual parts

(sheet metal parts and solid components) and also performed

uploading/downloading and managing data files (solid models, assemblies

and drawings) in database (TeamCenter).

. Detailed using GD&T methods, employed suitable Welding types and symbols

in areas of assemblies that needed to be welded and hence gained

knowledge in those areas.

. Created IGES files for the individual parts and components of the bucket

assemblies.

. Created parts pages (i.e. manual to be provided to the customer that

displays all serviceable parts which can be replaced in the particular

bucket assembly when it is worn out or needs replacing).

. Worked on Change level drawings, which needed either replacement or

addition of new parts/components/assemblies into the particular bucket

assembly and making necessary changes in the existing drawings

accordingly and also updating existing drawings to the current standards.
