As Quality Director I have the overall accountability for Tokico's Quality

Systems in the United States. Over 800 employees at the Berea manufacturing

plant, 40 plus at the Allen Park, MI Sales and Design Center. Some of

Tokico's manufacturing processes include, Machining of Rods, Tubes, Loops,

Calipers and Master Cylinders. Chrome Plating Rods, Painting, and

Caliper Plating. Stamping, Hot Forming, Blow Mold and both Resistance and

Arc Welding. Automated, Simi-Automated and Manual Assembly process are

used. Verification equipment include, Programmable and Manual CMMs, Micro

Scopes with measurement and photo retention software, Optical Comparators,

Surface and hardness tester. Specialist performance testers some within

environmental chambers, also Salt Spray chambers.

Quality Staff includes 3 Quality Managers, 9 Quality Engineers, 5

Supporting staff and Supervisors, and 33 Quality Technicians.

Tokico's produces around 543,000 units a month with an overall customer PPM

of 11.

Tokico's production in process scrap rate is 0.43% of sales. Tokico is

for quality requirements. Establish quality control hold points to meet

shop work order instructions and filing in the appropriate location for

has been annotated by appropriate personnel and that it is adequate,

Verify that traveler documents comply with Codes, standards Specifications

and Site Procedures. Review NCR's, ECR's, FCR's, MTDN's, N-5 preparation,

ect. In accordance with traveler documentation for turnover. Prepare

discrepancy lists for M/W Quality and Completion Engineering. When

dicrepancies have been cleared, stamp documentation and prepare for history

file index and forward completed traveler to Quality Document Control.

Verify and process, to Cocument Control, daily paper word generated by M/W

Quality. Assist in document review cross-training of technician trainees,

Level I and Level II section personnel. Perform special projects and other

duties as assigned by Turnover Quality Supervisor.

8/80 to 10/83 Tennessee Valley Authority, Bellefonte Nuclear Plant,

Hollywood, AL Quality Welding Inspector Level II. Responsible for verifying

and documenting visual weld inspections, witnessing welder performance

qualification tests, performing periodic audits and subcontractor

surveillance, monitoring the control of welding material and performing

nondestructive examinations. Also to perform quality visual welding

inspection of safety related mechanical piping, HVAC supports NF supports,

and AWS structural welding to include verifications of fit-up, preheat and
