Columbus, OH 43216
03-1989 to 03-2009
Responsible for soliciting, evaluating, advising with technicians and
ultimately issuance of awards for military spare parts for Weapon Systems.
My assigned companies were Bell Helicopter, Ft. Worth area, TX; Boeing
Helicopter, Ridley Park, PA; Sikorsky Aircraft in Connecticut; Parker
Hannifin in Irvine CA and Boeing in Seattle, WA. The majority of the
awards were firm fixed priced contracts as well as delivery orders against
basic ordering agreements and indefinite delivery purchase orders for
weapons systems for the Defense Logistics Agency, Defense Supply Center
Columbus, Aviation Detachment area.
I also worked in post award contracting. The main functions to include
protests, contract modifications, contractor delinquencies and technical
issues to include substitution of raw materials, change in specifications
and other deviations that may change the scope of the parts or systems
being ordered. The majority of deviations arose during the post award
process. The objective was to ensure the right product was going to be
delivered to the military customer. Also was responsible for payment
issues as well as close out of the contract.
Team leader responsibilities included training, reviewing and signing
modifications and letters for new interns joining the procurement career.
Trained interns to acknowledge the importance, understanding and use of all
FAR Regulations as well as DFAR and Local clauses.
I was chosen in 2001 to be a member of Release One team for the
implementation of the BSM (Business System Modernization) system, which was
DLAs (Defense Logistics Agency) new Supply Chain Management and
Procurement Tool. As part of the team, we advised management what was
required from the system to ensure the streamlining of the procurement
processes from the users perspective for both pre and post award.
