us at the top as number one supplier in terms of quality.
Siemens VDO Automotive - Driver Information Systems, R&D Department
Senior Software Developer / Quality Assurance Engineer
January 2003 - March 2004. - Auburn Hills, MI. USA
. As a Software Quality Engineer I developed our internal Software
Quality Method based on former VDO's method and adding improvements
based on previous Siemens' experience. The methods and processes are
based on CMMI. I was in charge of scheduling, directing and reporting
code and document reviews, maintaining the process documents, process
improvement, metrics definition, collection and interpretation,
configuration management, definition and tailoring of the document's
templates (requirements, design, testing), definition of testing
methodologies for functional and unit testing for the project,
participation in the development of test tools, as well as attending
and presenting our status and strategy at customer's technical design
reviews.
. I developed embedded software for an Instrument Gauge Cluster. Team
in MI - USA, Mexico and Romania.
. I developed simulators of part of the cluster's functionality (Message
Center and Fuel Gauge) in Visual Basic to be able to model the
functionality based on the requirements from the customer that were
still under development.
Siemens VDO Automotive - Restraints Electronics, Electrical Design
Department
Software Project Lead Engineer
January 2000 - December 2002. - Auburn Hills, MI. USA
. The project I started working on was the first in the history of the
division to follow the software development process based on SW-CMM;
this helped us satisfy Ford's quality requirements and guidelines for
software development. Team in MI - USA, Mexico and Germany.
. Software Project Manager/SQA Lead for Ford Restraints Control System
second and third generations. I managed and was part of an
engineering team for the development of the software, assigned
workloads, created work breakdown structure, developed processes,
performed software reviews, performed functional and unit testing,
coordinated quality assurance efforts, reported the status of the
software project, coordinated development and testing efforts among
engineers in Germany and Mexico, released software for customer
milestones and production, presented software details at technical
design reviews with the customer, and evaluated components from
suppliers.
. I developed several of the software modules, performed the integration
of all software modules with the hardware and debugged hardware and
software issues.
During my stay at Siemens VDO I was a member of SV-OPAL (January 1997 -
December 2000), (Siemens VDO - Optimized Process and Architecture
Leadership) - This team was in charge of creating the standards for the
development, quality assurance and management of software, based on SW-CMM,
for all Siemens VDO design centers around the world.
Author of the following articles at Siemens VDO:
. "Method for Obtaining the Reliability of Software" - Proposes an approach
to calculate software reliability based on Software faults discovered and
the failures they cause in the system. - September 2001.
. "Reporting the Status of the Software Development" - Proposes and
explains a format to report the software development status based on actual
achieved versus planned. - December 2001.
Author of the following tools at Siemens VDO:

and sends control commands to them based on the processing of the data
received. The interface to them was developed using a computer
program in CVI and instrumentation hardware that communicates using
the GPIB protocol.
. Automated tester for mechanical valves used for Plasma flow control,
using a motion controller card.
